HTD Level 3 Tower and Level 2 Bookshelf Speakers Video Review

Well that should be covered I'd assume. If that girl doesn't have insurance then you've got a lawsuit on your hands. Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure all will fall into place as it wasn't your fault.

HTD Level 3 Tower and Level 2 Bookshelf Speakers Video Review

Well if you're already looking for an upgrade to your Polk's then there is no reason to buy another Polk....just to sell it shortly down the road. I wouldn't base my opinions on how mains will sound from a center channel either. Sure you could gather a little (if competently designed), but it's...

    Help choosing Media streamer

Haha I feel ya. I set up mine too long ago to remember what I did, but I couldn't get it to work after a few hours. Started getting frustrated, but once I figured it out.....it was DEFINITELY worth it. Just take your time, read up on things about people having the same issue as you. (remember...

Looking for suggestions on wall mounting EMPTek E56Ci Center Channel

I'm really enjoying them so far. I've recently found a little resonance/vibration issue with the terminal cup, but I'm sure I can fix that up no problem. I think they could use a little bracing in the lower portion w/ the three 6.5's. It's not very apparent they need it, but I'm picky and like...

Looking for suggestions on wall mounting EMPTek E56Ci Center Channel

Good god. I bet those e55's can blare in that room size! They can get crazy loud without distortion in my room that's 20x20x10'

    Help choosing Media streamer

I purchased the WDTV-LIVE for those exact reasons. I didn't know anything about streaming devices and did a little research for a week or so. I picked up the Roku2 XS and it was just meh. Felt cheap, didn't play all the formats I thought it did, etc. All my music is in FLAC/WAV and my movies are...

First Impressions of the Ascend Sierra Towers/Horizon with RAAL Ribbons

Master volume on the AVR doesn't matter. It will spit out a 75db tone I'm thinking Audyssey came back with your fronts -X.XX because your sub is too loud or too quiet.

    DIY Sealed 15" or 18"??

Very cool! Another issue I have is finishing. That Piano Black cabinet at PE is nice, but a little steep at $240. Maybe not though. Haven't searched around much and I'd assume Piano Black is a PITA to do I'll be watching over this thread for sure

    DIY Sealed 15" or 18"??

These "flat packs" from DIYSoundGroup say they're all out of stock...is that just a website error. The price for the quality of bracing, 3/4" mdf, etc looks great. Great for us guys who haven't built up our tool collection yet.

    Focal 814v vs cheaper alternatives?

    And what's that?

    Focal 814v vs cheaper alternatives?

Yeah it seems the EMP's, Arx's, Focal Chorus 814's and Ascend 340's are always the talk when it comes to budget setups. With the EMP's being the best.JK:D Most or darn close to all focals I've heard in my car audio experience were on the brighter side of things (polyglass line mostly)...

"Home theater" speakers vs "musical" speakers

Well that's convenient! EMP also offers a 30-day, in-home trial (free return shipping) on the Impression series. Might be worth it to order those and have a listen to the HTD Lvl 3's if those are your front runners and/or look good to you. I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy either, but I can't say...

"Home theater" speakers vs "musical" speakers

Have you ever had the chance to audition/listen to the EMP e55ti's? You seem to be well respected and knowledgeable and when talking about moreso "budget" speakers, MTM's, etc...just wondering what your thoughts on the e55ti's were if you'd had the chance This is also a good possibility OP. I...

    Room Setup/Reflections HELP

So I found my problem......and I feel RIDICULOUSLY stupid :D I have WAAY too much experience to do that...granted it was completely on accident, but it happened. It was funny and I knew something was wrong. I ran a few phase checks on my Alan Parsons disc and BAM. When he says "out of phase" it...

Lost, confused, and getting teary. What i learned and did not get about Receivers.

I'd add an amp instead of changing the AVR. Just me though.

    Room Setup/Reflections HELP

So I was just playing around with my speakers...toe in, moving another foot apart, etc and the imaging went COMPLETELY different than what I was used to. I use various discs for setting up, but for imaging I like to use Autosound 2000: Disc 2 (Tracks 1-6; spec. tracks 5 & 6). I had the 7 snare...

Of Experts, Advice, Marketing and $1500

Hmm. I wonder if you're cabinets are "defective". I've read a few people say they got some orange peel or slight swirl marks, but nothing major. Usually on the back or base of the speaker. If you know anything about car detailing, those swirls can be taken care of pretty easily. Most "swirl...
