Picked mine up for $279 on Amazon also! I much prefer the Denon 1712 remote and GUI layout, but that's just me. The 1712 remote had a 'LEVEL' button so you could adjust center and sub (mainly) for different music and movies. For the X1000 that takes much longer. Stupid mistake by Denon if you ask me

It would be a replacement of the EMP setup. I told you in the PM, but I'll say it here so everyone else gets the jist of why I would contemplate this move...the top end and upper midrange of the EMP's need that significant boost in my room. I feel like even with the boost on the upper end...

Makes me wonder why people don't look at the newest JBL Studio line. The 580's and 590's really intrigue me for the money.

I've given some thought to these and the RC-64II center. It seems my room eats high frequencies as MultEQ XT always wants to boost 3-4k and up by 5dB's or more. I remember listening to these at a shop named Ultimate Electronics years ago. Thought they sounded pretty good, but it was so long ago...

Interesting tech. Love to see how it plays out and how they sound. One question I have is geared towards output. With a single 2" driver serving as the tweeter/midrange, wouldn't that limit output quite a bit compared to something user a 5.25", pair of midranges, 4" or whatever.

I get some decent output down to 25hz and then it falls off. I'm using 2, but it's closer to a 1,000sqft area (yes, sqft). They sound incredibly musical too, which is something that just does not happen at this price point. I know there are more factors than just the sub that play into that, but...

Agreed. It definitely is for the money. I can't imagine the performance you'd get in an enclosed, smaller room. Not to mention is incredible looking :D
