A Plea to Our Readers *** PLEASE READ ***

this is in the works, but our site developers are part time and it takes awhile to get stuff done. Yes sadly our traffic is at an all time high and we should be cranking right now, but the econ's got us down and the industry is in panic mode.

Official Yamaha RX-Z7 Receiver Review Thread

The Z7 has some great power capabilities, obviously enough to melt the inductors on your old speakers ;) The M80s will do just fine as I've seem them hit at ear bleeding levels with an A-1400 and they didn't falter. Enjoy your new speakers.

Recently, we lost a few good ones that we have very close relations with such as: Impact Acoustics / Cables to Go DVI Gear Dayton Audio Velodyne Studiotech (as of today 1/31/09) We hope they will return when the economy improves and we encourage you to support them as always to help keep...

    AudioQuest Field Terminates HDMI Cables

The praise will really come from us if we get samples in and they work up to the highest resolutions without incident. As for the other cable nonsense, its great entertainment and we love them for it. :D

Yes and I've been saying that ever since Yamaha incorporated that switch in their receivers. However, if you prefer to lose amplifier power and increase amplifier clipping, than by all means put it to the low impedance setting.

B/C all that switch does it lower the rail voltage so the amp will clip sooner under the UL test. Thus under a 4 ohm load on their test, it will dissipate less heat since it will also product much less power. You will see in my review that it totally crushes 8 ohm and 4 ohm power when its set...

    1. You need to check all speaker connections regardless 2. Make sure the impedance switch is set to 8 ohms or more, REGARDLESS of the impedance of your speakers. NEVER set it to 8 ohms or less EVER! You can access the impedance switch in the advanced menu by holding down the "Straight"...

I just sent back the 1st review unit. They sent me a 2nd unit and it has the same issue. I can make this problem go completely away by setting HDMI to HDMI to "through" which bypasses the ABT processing. I think the problem may lie somewhere in there. No I abused the amp section in this...

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000-HT8-B System Review

Fluance speakers look very nice. Unfortunately anytime I call them to arrange a product review the phone operators don't understand that we are an online review publication. They only seem competent enough to take a phone order and not think outside the box. I'd love to get a better contact...

The Speaker Company TST2 Floorstanding Speaker Review

One thing to keep in mind is tSc although owned by D&M is a completely new company. As such, there will be bumps in getting things smoothly going for awhile, including packaging, shipping, QC, etc. As long as they are proactive in resolving this issue, my hats off to them...

The Speaker Company TST2 Floorstanding Speaker Review

There is no sharp dive. The response of the tweet out to 20kHz is quite normal, especially since it was taken in-room over 1 meter away. If you think thats bad, trying measuring a metal dome tweet with a phase plug on axis up to 20kHz
