    Legacy Audio Focus Speakers

I knew a Pete in college that had these speakers around the same time. What a coincidence. :D

    SV Sound PB-12NSD Subwoofer Preview

The HSU VTF-15H is an incredible value that didn't exist 6 years ago. It's also quite a large box. The PB-12Plus DSP is an engineering marvel IMO. It also didn't exist like it does today, 6 years ago.

    SV Sound PB-12NSD Subwoofer Preview

Axiom subs don't suck. The EP500 IMO is their best performer/dollar for a variety of reasons. However, the rest of the sub world has really evolved in the last 4-5 years and are offering a LOT more performance for less money. It still doesn't mean their subs "suck", it just means they aren't...

Aperion Audio Verus Grand Loudspeaker System Reviewed

Measuring multi driver loudspeakers is a lot more complex than measuring a single driver subwoofer or speaker. This is why measurements are often done at different distances to the speaker. When doing in-room measurements, you want to measure a speaker as closely as possible to minimize room...

    SV Sound PB-12NSD Subwoofer Preview

That review of the EP500 was from 2004! The date doesn't reflect that since we've updated our CMS system and it messed up the dates on most of our older articles. That being said, converting my 1 meter rms 4pi to 2 meter GP for the Axiom EP500 yields: 20Hz 87dB 25Hz 97dB 30Hz 99dB vs the...

NAD VISO 1 Wireless Digital Music System Preview

Over the last 11+ years Audioholics has done nothing but provide very positive product reviews for NAD/PSB. Tom has a humorous flare that our readers appreciate. The preview article in question was IMO a pretty humorous yet informative article based on very little information known about...

Aperion Audio Verus Grand Loudspeaker System Reviewed

Sorry but I disagree with your very ignorant and broad brushed statements about our measurement protocol. We do follow a measurement protocol for loudspeakers and subwoofers and if you spent more time reading our tech articles you would have already known that. Some of our measurements are...

    SV Sound PB-12NSD Subwoofer Preview

I don't doubt that since the Axiom implements a brickwall HPF which raises group delay near tuning and also negates and room gain at very low frequencies where the SVS still produces usable tactile bass that couples with the room.

    SV Sound PB-12NSD Subwoofer Preview

You are comparing Peak (Ed's forum post) to RMS (my Preview article). My Preview article had all SPL's converted to RMS to be more inline with all data Josh Ricci publishes for us. It's also clearly noted in the article. I know this stuff can get confusing which is why I am a stickler for...

    SV Sound PB-12NSD Subwoofer Preview

You're right, I mistakenly posted the 18Hz tune mode data for the Outlaw. I went back and updated the article with the 25Hz data. The SVS PB-12NSD now has a +3.5dB advantage at 20Hz but the Outlaw LFM-1EX has about a +4dB advantage above 40Hz.

    Outlaw Audio LFM-1-EX Review

Thanks Ed. Your CEA data makes a lot more sense based on the frequency response curve Brent published. Also, I thought it would be interesting to compare 2 meter peak data between the PB-12NSD to the HSU VTF-15H we reviewed. Here is what I come up with when all peak data is translated to 2...

    Outlaw Audio LFM-1-EX Review

There are only 2 websites testing per CEA, us and S&V. Sadly Brent's #s haven't been very accurate and he is not open minded enough to even discuss them. We aren't perfect but we do have our data peer reviewed by the manufacturers prior to publishing. We've tested dozens of subs under CEA...

    Extreme Makeover: Audioholics Store Edition!

You make great points. I seriously doubt a single one of those cables have even been sold on the E-store. I will ask the E-store admins to either remove those products or make it more clear that its JPS opinion and not something we endorse. The E-store is simply copying and pasting product...

    Outlaw Audio LFM-1-EX Review

Brents #s are NOT at all what SVS has reported on their PB12-NSD sub. I trust SVS #s b/c they are always within 1dB of what we get. I looked at Bretts #s more closely for the HSU VTF-15H and SVS PB12-NSD. He claims both data are 2 meter yet his HSU #s at 2 meter are higher than ours at 1...
