Infinity Primus P363 Floorstanding Loudspeaker Review

I'm sure the mods would significantly help in the bass department. The entire bottom cavity of the stock version is hollow which is ridiculous. But, the real limitation of these speakers IMO is the tweeter. The midrange driver is great however and the bass drivers are acceptable.

Infinity Primus P363 Floorstanding Loudspeaker Review

At $400/pr and below, nothing is really in the same league as the P363s from my experience. I don't have a lot of experience with towers in the $750/pr range. I mostly recommend bookshelf speakers until you get to around $1500/pr. However, I have spent a lot of time with a close audiophile...

Status Acoustics Titus 8T Loudspeaker System Q&A Interview

Don't forget the original 10" driver on the Status Titus have 1/2 the excursion of the new 10" drivers used on the 8Ts. I asked Shane about this and he said the bass from the 8T is a significant step up from the original Titus. That being said the original Titus are incredible performers and I...

Status Acoustics Titus 8T Loudspeaker System Q&A Interview

coming from a pair of T30s which are equivalent to 1010-SE/R subs only with 50% more box volume so they play even lower, the Titus 8T is quite a substantial upgrade not just in output but how it plays into the room. Those giant rear ports load the room almost like having additional bass drivers...

Status Acoustics Titus 8T Loudspeaker System Q&A Interview

I did ask actually b/c I was all for trading in my Velodyne DD15+s for one but it sounds like NO for the moment. Just the mains center and possibly a bookshelf for now but if all goes well with the line, an 8T sub could follow.

    Speaker Suggestions

Seriously guys enough with the P363 recommendation in every speaker thread. They are a good speaker for $400/pr or less but if you think better performance can't be had regardless of price, I suggest you get out and do some listening. I was kind to Infinity in my review b/c of the price, but...

Very good point. But in the end, if it sounds good to you, then that's all that matters since you have to live with the particular speaker.

Infinity Primus P363 Floorstanding Loudspeaker Review

There are still ways to exploit product weaknesses in a blind test. Martin Logan's for example sound best in a very narrow sweet spot so if the listener isn't positioned ideally, and the source material emphasizes that weakness, then its very conceivable that the speaker with broader dispersion...

Infinity Primus P363 Floorstanding Loudspeaker Review

It's important to note the Infinity vs Martin Logan so called "DBT" you are referring to was conducted by Harman. Manufacturers never lose their own blind tests, something I've written extensively about here: The Insanity of Marketing Disguised as Science in Loudspeakers — Reviews and...

Infinity Primus P363 Floorstanding Loudspeaker Review

For under $400/pair IMO these speakers are hard to beat if one is looking for a floorstander so at $279/pr that is a killer deal. At that price, nothing can touch them!
