Status Acoustics Titus 8T Loudspeaker System Q&A Interview

The Titus 8T have incredible bass output. The other subs is to smooth out the bass for multi seats. I managed to run my processor with NO sub and just set the 8T's to large. The bass is incredible at any seat but I did manage to run my 2 additional subs out of the main l/r outputs and now...

Status Acoustics Titus 8T Loudspeaker System Q&A Interview

Agreed. For the past 2 weeks, I've been wrestling with trying to get these speakers to perform ideally for 2CH and Multi Channel but there are compromises to be made. Because this speaker has such perfect integration for all its drivers, it sounds best running as a full range tower. However...

Yes there are talks about a possible EMP version down the road. If enough of our readers bug them, it may just happen and likely at 1/10th the cost of these babies.

I certainly won't disagree with you there. You can surely accomplish the same twisting together a bunch of CAT5 to the equivalent gauge, but Kimber has great name recognition and their products look great. The WBT's don't add any magic to the speaker other that providing a very solid connection...

Status Acoustics Titus 8T Loudspeaker System Q&A Interview

Kimber product isn't cheap but its well built, measures very well and they make no snake oil claims about their stuff. It seems this thread is quickly declining to "why don't they use cheaper materials since the expensive stuff doesn't matter". If you're seriously considering this product, I...

Uh, you can biamp and triamp this speaker and use the bass modules as powered subs if you like.

If you heard how well integrated the drivers are in this system, you wouldn't worry about active crossovers. I've heard some great fully active systems but none matched what I'm hearing with these. I'm sure an active version of this speaker could be made (at a reduced cost no less given how...

    EMP E41-B for $209

They probably sold out of the Beryllium drivers which is why they now use the Aluminum ones. The Aluminum drivers will have better bass output, especially the non phase plug version but they will give up some of the softness in sound you get from the Beryllium cone. Either way, at $210/pr...

    EMP E41-B for $209

The tubes are on the preamp side not the power amp. I'd imagine you could still get replacements from EMP for them though I'm curious about the new amp they will be releasing. In anything other than a small office, the VT-40.2 simply doesn't cut the mustard.

    EMP E41-B for $209

IT's the Scan Speak 9500 which until I heard the new Beryllium tweeter they make, was my favorite tweeter of all time. It's not a cheap upgrade and will cost you as much as you paid for the 41s. I did it b/c most of my reference speakers employ this tweet and I really love the openness of the...

    EMP E41-B for $209

Sounds like you implemented them well. In a large room, I'd want to employ 2 subs placed in close proximity and crossed over to the 41s at 100Hz. That kind of setup, running stereo subs, would be pretty awesome for sure. I love them as nearfield monitors b/c they are so detailed and clean...

    Emotiva UPA-5 vs UPA-500

The UPA500 and UPA200 are identical except the UPA500 has 5 channels and the UPA200 has 2 channels. They have the exact same power transformer and capacitor bank. I am currently reviewing the UPA500 and will post the review in a couple of weeks.
