There's quite a bit of nylon stuffing in there. I'm not quite sure how one figures out the reduced volume of what's in there and that every speaker has exactly the same amount - more or less just shoved in there. I'll have to respectfully disagree that an 1/8 layer of clay and some thin-ish...

I would bet a pair of TP160 Towers that they are made from the same wood-like material that the bookshelves are made from - in addition they have a woofer and go down lower. I can see why these, even more than the bookshelves, would need bracing.

The variable factors in the stock market are greed and fear. These guys often panic and sell off if they think that they might lose a ton of money. (Remember if you have 2 million shares of a stock, having it drop by $1....) Also there are many people out there betting on stocks tanking.. short...

I can compare them again tonight but I remember that they don't sound too much different that the Salk/Philharmonic sound. Maybe a bit less smooth, a little less soundstage depth and a couple other things but for under $250/pair on sale (they go on sale often) you really can't buy much better...
