Auto detection of signals For me, auto signal detection & switching would be the most important, if this is possible. I don't need anymore buttons to push to watch tv. (And I don't need anymore buttons to have to teach to my girlfriend.)

I used these plugs from Radio Shack: http://makeashorterlink.com/?Y1A223BBA $5 CAD a pair & they work fine with 12ga wire from Home Depot (I think I paid $45 CAD for $100ft.) in my HK 325. You strip the wire, fan the strands, slide the wire in & crimp them.

I still have to take the remotes over to the store. I usually don't use the supplied remote because I have a Marantz RC2000. It happened with both remotes. I had a Recoton IR extender plugged into the MR jack & that worked fine.
