I would avoid both. The HC1600 is notorious for RBE, and the HD65 is built like crap, plastic lens, with high noise and lots of heat. Try looking for the Sharp 510, or used Planar 720p.

CSA is much tougher than the standards in America. The onkyo receivers are notorious for their high heat. It's a possibility that different boards exist. In the 80s, Marshall amplifiers (guitar fans out there) made 2 separate amps for US and Canada for this reason alone.

I love HT! I'm not an elite hardcore guy with a $5000 pre/pro, but I have decent equipment that is above average. I want to treat my room - but I can't! These things are ridiculously expensive to buy. I can't believe simple pieces of foam just to place in corners command so much money.

As long as they made HDMI 1.4 more stable in terms of connection, I welcome the change. Syncing should be instantaneous at this point. Also, a connector to make it backwards compatible with existing HDMI is I'm sure is coming. We'll see when pics arrive.

At this moment, the Samsung 3600 is the one to get. Finally there's a player that loads discs nearly seamlessly - it's faster than the PS3. It's getting rave reviews from everyone. The only thing I'd like to know is it's upscaling of DVDs, and CD playing.
