List of 1800 Radio Shacks being closed.

You may have to bump up the magnification, but here's the list. One of the ones I worked at is going bye-bye. http://www.foxbusiness.com/industries/2015/02/09/these-radioshack-stores-are-closing/?cmpid=prn_outbrain&intcmp=ob_homepage_business&intcmp=obnetwork

Ya just gotta love unlimited data on Iphones.

Rita's had an Iphone forever. Well, not quite forever but when she got it, they offered an unlimited data plan and she went for it. That plan is long gone but, since she's had it pretty much forever, they'll grandfather her with that until we either drop AT&T or change her plan (like that'll...

Movie prices are the movie theaters own worst enemy.

Where we currently live, going to a plain jane movie (no Imax or 3D) costs about $12 on any given evening. On weekends, if you go before 12:00 pm, one movie theatre charges $7.00, and we consider that a bargain. We just got back from College Station, Texas and, for a mid-afternoon movie, as a...

It's official! Rick Springfields butt is a real knockout.

At least according to this "fans" lawsuit, anyway. OK, what's up with posting links since this last "upgrade"? What's changed that the way I used to do it no longer works? http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2015/01/rick_springfield_in_syracuse_for_retrial_in_butt-injury_lawsuit.html

    Galavant

A new half hour musical comedy from ABC set in medieval times. The casting is great and mostly unknowns*, the writing witty, and the songs are short, clever, and funny as all get-out. It's everything "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" should have been. Mel Brooks would be proud. Yes, it works and...

    Joe Cocker died today.

"Singer Joe Cocker, best known for his cover of The Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends, has died aged 70. The Sheffield-born singer had a career lasting more than 40 years, with hits including You Are So Beautiful and Up Where We Belong." Linky...

    Pink Floyd - Endless River.

How could I [pass up their first new recording in about forty years or so? Particularly when it was issued in multi-channel DTS which, I guess, acknowledges the demise of SACD as a viable medium? In any case, here's my impressions. Somebody found new age music and delved heavily into the...

WTF is "Found Poweliks" and how do I get rid of it?

Make that "Found Poweliks". apparently we can't edit the subject anymore. This started popping up two days ago, making it through AVG free, which I have been using for years. On a SCAN, AVG Free does acknowledge it, and a few others but seems incapable of doing anything about it. It says...

    No more Click and Clack.

Tom Magliozzi, half of the Click and Clack brothers on PBS's "Car Talk" passed. See Linky http://www.npr.org/2014/11/03/357428287/tom-magliozzi-popular-co-host-of-nprs-car-talk-dies-at-77']HERE[/url] I know they were doing the show this year and planned to stop at the end on this season. I...

It looks like ?Halloween is coming a bit early this year.

This just might be the creepiest crime I've heard of. "Police in the tiny Balkan country say a 52-year-old guard at an Orthodox Christian cemetery was detained after alleged opening graves to prize gold teeth and dentures and reselling them." See...

Jack Bruce, bassist for Cream, passed.

Don't quite know where to put it but here seemed as good as any. Linky HERE

    Gone Girl

Interesting movie, great concept, well plotted and acted, totally unsatisfying ending. I want my two hours + back.

    The Equalizer

Yeah, it's formula "old guy gets rightiously pithed off and kicks mega butt" but, dang, is it ever well done. Go see it. You'll love the refinery explosion

    Scorpion.

I had high hopes for this one but, even for a comics, action, and fantasy movie fan who has no problem with suspension of belief or the sake of good entertainment, this one stretches that ability way too far for me. Too much, simply way too much to swallow. I know this comes from the same...

    No Good Deed

formula movie about lone woman facing big, bad home invader with an interesting twist at the end. The difference he e is that the two leads, Taraji P Henson Idris Elba are truly excellent and carry this movie with aplomb and the direction is excellent. It defines the two main characters up...

Grudge Match, or Rocky vs The Raging Bull, geriatric version.

Pretty good. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did but it surprised me. There was much more to the plot than the title and trailer would suggest. But, the kid stole the show. Some of the biggest laughs come during he credits.

Is this an old age thing or what?

All my life I've known the word is spelled "they" but I often catch myself writing "thay" even though i know better. What's up with that?

    Lucy

Starts out as a pretty decent action flick with Scarjo reprising her Black widow role, except as an X-man and then, in the last ten minutes, well, as Sheldon Cooper would say "Bazinga!"!

Bose suing Apple over Beats by Dr Dre.

Yeah, that's a mouthful. It's all over the noise cancelling headphone technology which they say Apple "misappropiated" from them. Say what you will about Bose, their research in this area is first rate and they did pretty much start the ball rolling in this area. See linky HERE
