How important is timbre matching - really?

Years ago I recall reading in every publication that Timbre matching was absolutely critical. In recent years it seems the pendulum has swung the other way. I've seen many articles in traditional magazines that have said Timbre matching is not as critical. I do think I agree though I'm sure most...

Ahh, I HATE LIVING IN CANADA SOMETIMES

It could be worse Yeah the taxes in Canada suck, but on the bright side, you don't have Bush running your county. :)

    IS CD Dieing?

I understand what you are saying, but I disagree. I don't see CDs disappearing overnight, but they will go the way of the Dodo soon enough. Legal downloading is in its infancy. You are right in saying that there is lots of music that you can't get through downloads, but you will in the near...

Advertising's been in games for years. The best way to stop this is not to click on the links.

    IS CD Dieing?

I disagree about hard drives not being cheaper to manufacture than CDs. Today it's not even a challenge to find 200 gb hard drives that can be had for $60-$70 after rebates. That's a lot of CD-Rs with the added convenience of speed, portability, and adding and deleting files. As for your...

    ARGH! (Non-reading/word twisting posters!)

On the up side..... If this forum wasn't filled with so many people asking silly questions I for one wouldn't have so much to laugh at. I really get a kick out of those seeking the advice of complete strangers in an effort to make a personal subjective decision, especially when the internet is...

    IS CD Dieing?

Is CD Dying? Tape - dead 8 - track - Why are we even talking about something that been dead, buried, and already turned to dust? Vinyl - Long dead except for a few people who just can't let go of the past. HDCD - A product with questionable assets that never developed into anything...

How would you bring people back to theatres?

I agree with you. People aren't coming back to the theaters in droves anytime soon. One of the older theaters in our city was converted into a laser tag facility. Maybe conversions like that are what is needed to get them back in the theaters.

How would you bring people back to theatres?

Well I'm really miffed. I spent a lot of time responding to this post and now I don't see it. Am I getting too old to remember to hit the submit button? Anyway, let me see if I can recreate my rant (now that I think about it, was my rant posted, but then removed? I hope not, it wasn't an...

Pressure Musicians to Record in SACD/DVD A

Not let them fade away? They've been all but dead for quite some time now. It's a shame that it happened, but it's time to move on. How 'bout HD-DVD? I predict this shares hi-res music's fate and will go down the crapper as well, but possibly sooner. Studio's never seem to learn that format wars...

    Watch Scrubs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazed it's still on TV I absolutely love Scrubs. This show is so funny and has so much heart. Plus, has anyone ever seen a show that makes better use of celebrity guest stars? I hope the show never ends, but I'm always surprised to see it return each season because I have seldom run into...

denon won't play slightly scratched dvd

I seriously doubt that there are safeguards in place on Denon or any other manufacturers units. I think it just reflects on the overall quality of what's being sold today. Anyway, anyone remember back in the day when CD players were king and reviews would post the specs of error tracking? I...

    To HDMI or not?

I don't know. I have an HDMI out on my satellite reciever and tried connecting it to my TV. I didn't notice any difference, but reconnected the component connections just to be sure. Still didn't see a difference so I never bothered to change back to the HDMI. Besides, from what I gather, HDMI...

Giddyup! Did anyone notice the auction link for the model's underwear worn in the video? So far there are 6 bids. I didn't bid, but it warms my heart to know that as of today there are 6 others as depraved as I am.
