    Danon X4700H, Arcam sa30 and 2 Subwoofers.

I’m concerned about the warranty of all Class D amps as if you look, you will see they don’t come close to the warranty of Class A/B amps. That doesn’t give me a warm-fuzzy

Parasound A21+ power amp for my front L/R speakers -- overkill? Other options?

Thanks, I'm old school and not familiar with these class D amps. Can they sustain high output for extended periods? And would they work well with my Anthem STR preamp? I see that the Buckeye can produce 28A output current, while the Parasound can produce 60A.

...concentrate on currant rather than just power as a whole which in hindsight is a bit presumtous of the process. Im leaning more towards ati's class d, although like you say cooling on those amps as a whole is quite good, but with the added perks of class d it weighs up favourably especially...

Shopping for decent power amp’s lighting took out two carver TFM-35 x’s

The plan is to get them serviced and upgraded to the present spec there just to nice of an amp to park . I’ve had these for 20 or more years . It’s time for a refresh. The Buckeye amp is to fill in till one is done then switch it out and send another in .

Ah, yes, ATI. Thanks for reminding me about ATI; I remember them from back in the day. I will check them out.

Hi again—you came to this forum for advice. All forum members, so far are recommending you buy and use Class D amps. Engineering science and applications have moved forward onto Class D amps. Are you still wanting old used AB amps? Why?

SVS micro 3000 amp repair question

It is impossible to answer that question with certainty. I doubt it is unsafe. There are quite a few approaches to class D amps, which that amp will be. My hunch is that wine is coming from the LC filter. These amps are class D, or switching amps to conserve power and reduce heating. These...

Is the Onkyo TX-RZ70 the Best AVR under $3000?

I was just looking around for the same information.... sadly Onkyo/Integra have not been quite as forthcoming about the guts of their gear as D&M have!

...for $2500 is also the cheapest version of it. The Ultra is $4200 and it can go up from there with options. What I don’t like is all these class D amps like the one we are talking about has a 1 year warranty (WTF). All these class D amps have a much smaller warranty compared to traditional amp...

...those things are due to power amps in the calibre of those you are looking at, if someone says they could hear the difference between ATI's class D and AB, I just smile, knowing full well, with confidence that they would not hear the claimed differences in a well controlled DBT, I respect...

Parasound A21+ power amp for my front L/R speakers -- overkill? Other options?

Was curious, so just checked what Bryston is doing with their class D offering, looks like they're still doing 20 years. My Crowns came with 3 year warranties but not an issue since expiration, some are 15 years old now in daily use.

...new setup and the aesthetic my wife was looking for with the new console. The previous setup had very low WAF. One nice thing about these class D amps is how easily they will fit inside the console. The McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe Edition amp on top just barely won't fit in the console. It...

Interesting comment by Gene Delasrio in his review of LBM speakers....... "Class-A/B may not be quite as efficient as class-D, but it is more reliable on the whole, and with such a massive heatsink, it looks like a unit that was built to last."

I think I would add 'mind' to the quote about ears breaking in- bias comes from the mind and the interface allows us to smooth out differences in sensed experiences. Then, we get to deal with the conflict that comes from "This can't possibly sound this good- it's not expensive, big, etc" due to...

...EPDR (a misleading spec, that says more about heat dissipation, than currents). That, from my understanding, you may be better off using class D amps such as the popular Hypex or Purifi modules based power amps. Class D amps seem less prone to low EPDR than class AB amps that would...

Parasound A21+ power amp for my front L/R speakers -- overkill? Other options?

Very nice setup, your front 3 speakers surely love current! They will do well with Bruno's class D amps. By the way, Bruno is main guy in the design/development of both the Hypex and Purifi modules, here's a good article that he and Gene worked together on a few years ago, don't let anyone...

    Amp protection lights on

If I would buy a new amplifier then a good class D is what I most likely would buy, and as @everettT wrote low heat generation is important to me as well. Also note that an efficient power supply is very important as well as most of the time the amplifier will output low power (1-5 watt or so)...

Focal Goes Active with $40k DIVA UTOPIA Wireless Speakers!

I don't dispute that the AB amps are most likely excellent, but they are still inefficient and heat generating amps with the best class D amps performing better (not audibly, likely).
