Thoughts... Filling a basement with 'club like' sound.

This is pretty easy... CMX 212 CERWIN VEGA HOME AUDIO SPEAKERS I was impressed by these, very clean clear and loud, very well behaved, find a company close and give them a listen, really impressive!!!! use an xls1000 for power should be plenty.... or Amazon.com: Cerwin-Vega XLS-215 Dual 3-Way...

Need help choosing a pair of decent towers for less than $1400

If you want to do it all with a tower, try a pair of Cerwin Vega xls-215 's with a Crown XLS1500 , I have heard that setup {he actually has the 2500 crown amp but it was overkill} and no need for a sub there, lol.... Cerwin Vega has some pretty nice stuff I heard a pair of the powered...

Is it the equipment or my rock/metal music?? Plus need help with recommendations - Revel

Did you say 80-100K american dollars? That's a big budget. If I was spending that kind of money I would be contacting the manufacturers and letting them fly me to the facility to check out what they have and how its made.... First- Can you post a picture of the room this system is going in...

    hooking up in home subs?

Do you mean XLS 15S sub? XLS 15S CERWIN VEGA Front Firing Powered Subwoofer If so, they list the -3dB cutoff as 40Hz...which is admirably honest, but not really a "subwoofer". It may very well play loudly- Cerwin Vega stuff usually does - but it isn't actually hitting low bass much at all.

Which Emotiva amp for stereo listening?

ohh yeah they are, lol... I own an xls1500 and I use the outlaws, and bought the crown after, but that is in its box.. It is a great amp for sure, they sound just like, well nothing, which is what you want... BUT they dont have 12v triggers, they have fans that I can hear {granted they are...

    best $500-$700 floor speakers

I currently have a cheap 5.1 speaker set up (one of those $400 HT in a box things). I am ok with that system. I also have a moderately priced receiver (would not call it cheap but it is nothing too good). Pioneer VSX-1021-K 7.1 Home Theater Receiver Like I said this setup is ok for my HT...

    Dangerous and almost pointless question...

Ok, so. I have a few more to ad after reading through the forum and considering suggestions: Ascend Acoustics Sierra-1 or CMT-340 with my Velodyne for between $1,000-$1,500 Cerwin-Vega CMX-26, CMX series surround speakers and velodyne for $1,800 Cerwin-Vega XLS series (XLS-28, XLS-12...

    What's happening to JBL?

Are you suggesting that speakers with larger woofers can't be produced at sane prices? (I.E. less than the $11,500 per pair of JBL's lowest-priced offering for the North American market) Here's some examples: Legacy "Focus HD"(two 12" woofers per loudspeaker,@ $6500...

    What's happening to JBL?

Well, they could, but how many people would by them? Lets not forget the WAF, which has never been a problem of mine. I like large drivers, but the L890 with its dual 8" gets low, to 28htz. Of coarse subs go lower, but I ran a pair of those, powered by 220w, w/o a sub and they were so good in...

    Powering Four Speakers

You can hook up the two speakers in parallel on each side of the amp. Just make sure your load doesn't dip below 2ohms. You might consider a more robust amp. The Crown XLS series might fill the bill pretty well.

    What's happening to JBL?

Yes I am. They can reproduce but where is the quality? I don't know the JBL, but CWs and certainly not Hi-Fi reproducers, and the Klipsch offerings can certainly be bested. The Legacy is getting pricey. I heard their offerings a few years back and we will say no more. Now take the Madisound...
