USB Cable for DAC. Printer Cable/Audio Cable? Whats the difference? Go big? go small?

just ordered a Musical Fidelity V90. I'll be running a usb out of a laptop. Trying to avoid the snake oil here, go monoprice? or something better?

^^ yes, for short distances. USB will start misbehave quite badly over about 15-20 ft cables. If its required to be that long, OP needs to get look into active usb cables like this one :

This is true, but I think that is a USB port voltage issue not exactly a cable issue (though obviously related). I could not update my UMC-200 over a 10' USB cable and when I contacted them the first thing they said was to use a shorter cable. It worked with a shorter cable.

at 6-7 ft absolutely yes. Cheapest will do fine.

usb 2.0 and 3.0 use same cable, different only port color to let users know
