I saw this and that thing is awesome. Now I just wish the big brother was on there to see how that stacks up against the LMS Ultra in terms of specs and measurements.

As it was Josh Ricci who did the recent review of the 18.0, the info will be going up on Data Bass shortly, in the meantime the measurements are in the review.
PS; there will be a "passive" 18.0 test as well.

I believe both are already up. Both are extremely impressive, especially for the "downgraded" driver.

Nathan, I see that from 12.5-40Hz the passive 18.0C is about the same as the active 18.0C. But from 50-125Hz, the passive 18.0C outputs a lot more. Why is that?

And how much is the passive 18.0C so that I can start recommending it to people who don't want to spend more than ~ $1K? :D

I'm going to have to sell some of my speakers and RBH subs so that I can have room for 2 more 18.0 Unpowered subs. :D

It seems that the active amp you sacrifice a little output and a little upper end extension, but in exchange it maintains a better control over distortion.

The passive version tests shows what the sub can do with massive(powersoft K10) power available, the tests basically show that the built in amp for that driver in the 18.0C provides all the power the driver needs to reach its limits 40hz down, and that with more power it can have more output over 40hz.

The passive 18.0C is 1420ea delivered in the US. Quantity discounts are available, also simpler boxes(with super basic finish) can bring the costs down some.

I would recommend our dual 2.4kw amp to power your current 18.0's. It would be a very worthwhile upgrade.
