Subwoofer on a Teacher/Father budget

Hello fellow audio enthusiasts...
My forte used to be in the 12-volt years ago...
I need recommendations on entry level subs under $250.

I know...I know... a little more and I could get Outlaw Audio M8 Subwoofer (unless anyone knows where it sells for or less than $250)

I can not save more money, as I can not really spend much more on myself...instead of my family. The problem is I have high end tastes w/ the unfriendly budget... :)

System:
HK 1878
Infinity Primus PC351 Three-way dual 5-1/4-Inch Center Speaker
4 Infinity Primus P163BK Two-way 6 1/2-Inch Bookshelf/Satellite Speaker
Sub: Yamaha 8"

Right now my choices are the following...and yes, any recommendations are welcome in that range.
JBL ES250PBK $200
BIC America F12 $181
BIC AMERICA Eviction Series RTR-EV1200 $195
BIC RTR Series RTR-12S $151
Sony SA-W3000/Z $180
Dayton Audio SUB-1200 $129

Do you happen to teach woodworks or have access to wood workshop? Doing Sub DIY is most easy audio diy project one could do and you can have great sub on your budget

Craigslist, audiogon, AVS and this site all have used opportunities as a suggestion.

CLASSIFIEDS - SELL YOUR GEAR

Be patient. Look frequently here and on audiogon. Craigslist is good for local, but stick to you can see, touch, hear, feel and see local. Don't send money. (By the way, I am an AFJROTC teacher)

New Klipsch RW 12D Subwoofer 743878018707 | eBay keep an eye on this guy...

Also on ebay you can get Polk PSW505 subs very cheap, its a decent sub, 300 watts 12" strong, good sub.. I have seen them sell for $150 shipped, some as low as $90 shipped, a pair of them things would be nice in any room, but one will do just fine for a budget system..

This looks really good for the money... Add a set of floor spikes, a little bracing, strip the carpet, seal and sand, and then spray it black... Very nice for very little money and a little work..

I wonder how it sounds against a bic f12...

$120 + $65 + $35 = $220 Not bad....w/ 4ohm DVC....I forgot how to wire it up ...lol but for about that there are a couple of subs i can get a finished product..for what I can afford....but this is a great idea if you're looking for more high end....thank you for the creativity....

He suggested that it was more for HT...How is it for Music? I listen to everything, but I am particular to Jazz, Blues, Metal...I like to feel the drums, and hear movement on an upright bass....lol

It's funny...when I was in 12-volt...ported subs were for SPL and volume, while sealed were for punch and accuracy...if that's true...are there any affordable sealed subs???

I will be needing a new speaker project soon. At that time I may be looking to part with my TC-1000 passive sealed. Let me know if it peaks your interest. You'd need to carpet or finish it yourself and you'd need an amp. I really want to build an SI sub.
