Nope the shoulder is good, knock on wood, back to work for a while now and back under the plates and she is holding strong, actually had a check up and scan a couple weeks ago, looks real good {or so they tell me, it looks like a swirly mess to me...}...
She paid $38K before taxes and fees, I want to say out the door she was around $41K, my jeeps msrp was $47K and I paid around $15K less than that. Maybe its my own insecurities she didn't take me with her to make the deal because I was busy, she said "she traded me for a tight dress" so maybe she didn't get a bad deal, lol.. I just did a quick search on trucar and it looks like people pay from 34K-42K but them are always high people more likely pay between 30-40, it also looks like the dealer pays 17% less than msrp, it lists a 44795 car costs them 37179, and you can get your dealership to sell behind cost by about $1000 or so, and get them to throw in the first service and an additional tank of gas at that service.
The easiest way to know you got the best deal is this... If the salesman OK's your offer, you didnt do good at all, if he goes to the sales manager to get the ok, you did better, if the sales manager calls the owner of the dealership to OK the sale, you did even better, if the owner says no, and they call you back the next day to come back in and they come up with a number $200 higher than your offer and say any cheaper and they have to let you leave, than you tell them OK, but you throw in the first service and a fill up... Thats when you know you did very well...
I buy so many new cars a year it gets sickening, when I bought my wifes jeep, I checked what others on the jeep forums paid and I was $4K less than everyone, for a brand new, off the truck, post year{2013 bought in 2012} unit... Plus I got the first service for free with a $125 gas card, a full tank when I picked it up and they switched the floor mats out of another truck because my wife liked them better... When I bought my service trucks rite next door, I paid $1200 under dealer cost for each one, and I got free oil changes for the first 15K miles {so 3 per truck}, they would NOT fill the tanks up more than once though, lol them tanks are like 40 gallons each.... Dealerships don't make money selling cars believe it or not... they make profit from service, warranty sales, financing, and just the occasional person that comes in and pays sticker... I normally go with friends and family when they are buying new cars although my brother is getting really good too, he just bought a new Harley for $4K under sticker, and them guys normally do not move much, I was impressed...
Anyway good to hear from you, it looks like your doing great, that's awesome, the new bike looks SICK... My wife wants a new bike, just for street riding, because she takes her mtn bike when she goes with her sister to ride through the parks and 1 its tearing her tires up fast and 2 she said she has to work harder to keep up because her sister has a cruiser type bike {like one with beach bars} which didn't make sense to me, but maybe they are geared different, I was going to ask you what you recommend? Only want to spend around $1000 no more than that, because her sister isn't going to ride for long, its a fad and then this thing is going to sit in my garage for ever collecting dust... And if I'm on the bike I'm not riding through a park, my wife is a beast with me on the trails its a shame to waste that in a park on a cycle course or what ever you call it... I told her to just wait it out instead of buying another bike because her sister isnt going to stick with it and we will be donating this thing to good will in 2 years, but she knows better so, what do you think {the bike shop I go to doesnt even sell them bikes, so I think we are stuck with the internet}...
