Roof racks are basically designed to cause pain and suffering. Very jealous of the car/bike/legs.

I have hit my garage twice with bikes on the roof. Tends to tear up bikes, the car and the rack.

The legs are secondary to suffering on the bike.

The car and bike are because we have two incomes and decided to never have children. When you don't have to feed kids, buy them clothes, buy them cars, pay for school and pay for the girl to get married, you have more money for yourself.

My niece got married last Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding with top-notch everything, I'm not sure my sister and BIL were crying because their only daughter was getting married or if they were just thinking about the $30k they just spent...

I still can't get any music loaded on this stupid car...

Car electronics are the worst designed things I have ever come across. I'm a very tech savy person, and generally think manuals are for people who lack fortitude. First thing I did after putting a new stereo deck in my car? Pull out the manual to figure out how to work it.

I sometimes wonder if the general rule of thumb on car electronics is to tell the engineers to build a rough out of something then throw it straight to market.

Congrats on the new car, one of my employees bought one, but it was November of last year so she probably got smashed, and their is only one dealer around here and they sell 8 different brands so not too much bargaining if you want a luxury car around here... Her car is grayish black and I remember she paid $38K and sticker was $50!!!! hers is very loaded, though and it was the first 13 off the lot, so you know she got hammered on the price... I see a lot of them around here people really like them... I bought my wife a wrangler Rubicon 4 door around the same time she bought her Audi and My wife was sitting in her audi and said "we never test drove one of these" and I was like "we just bought a 45 thousand dollar jeep, get out of the Audi, NOW!!! Plus I don't fit in the Audi too good, but for that matter I don't fit in the Jeep to well either...

Nice color, Im showing her these picks tomorrow, because our jeep is white and she made a comment that she wished they had white when she bought her car....
She does complain about the gas mileage, but its a v6 so 19-20mpg is expected, I told her that when she bought it, she traded in her Rav4 that got like 30mpg...

Crap...if your posting again, you must have blown out your new shoulder.

Plus...I think you are drunk as you are saying she got a 50k car for 38k and then you say she got hammered on the price.

Nope the shoulder is good, knock on wood, back to work for a while now and back under the plates and she is holding strong, actually had a check up and scan a couple weeks ago, looks real good {or so they tell me, it looks like a swirly mess to me...}...
She paid $38K before taxes and fees, I want to say out the door she was around $41K, my jeeps msrp was $47K and I paid around $15K less than that. Maybe its my own insecurities she didn't take me with her to make the deal because I was busy, she said "she traded me for a tight dress" so maybe she didn't get a bad deal, lol.. I just did a quick search on trucar and it looks like people pay from 34K-42K but them are always high people more likely pay between 30-40, it also looks like the dealer pays 17% less than msrp, it lists a 44795 car costs them 37179, and you can get your dealership to sell behind cost by about $1000 or so, and get them to throw in the first service and an additional tank of gas at that service.
The easiest way to know you got the best deal is this... If the salesman OK's your offer, you didnt do good at all, if he goes to the sales manager to get the ok, you did better, if the sales manager calls the owner of the dealership to OK the sale, you did even better, if the owner says no, and they call you back the next day to come back in and they come up with a number $200 higher than your offer and say any cheaper and they have to let you leave, than you tell them OK, but you throw in the first service and a fill up... Thats when you know you did very well...

I buy so many new cars a year it gets sickening, when I bought my wifes jeep, I checked what others on the jeep forums paid and I was $4K less than everyone, for a brand new, off the truck, post year{2013 bought in 2012} unit... Plus I got the first service for free with a $125 gas card, a full tank when I picked it up and they switched the floor mats out of another truck because my wife liked them better... When I bought my service trucks rite next door, I paid $1200 under dealer cost for each one, and I got free oil changes for the first 15K miles {so 3 per truck}, they would NOT fill the tanks up more than once though, lol them tanks are like 40 gallons each.... Dealerships don't make money selling cars believe it or not... they make profit from service, warranty sales, financing, and just the occasional person that comes in and pays sticker... I normally go with friends and family when they are buying new cars although my brother is getting really good too, he just bought a new Harley for $4K under sticker, and them guys normally do not move much, I was impressed...

Anyway good to hear from you, it looks like your doing great, that's awesome, the new bike looks SICK... My wife wants a new bike, just for street riding, because she takes her mtn bike when she goes with her sister to ride through the parks and 1 its tearing her tires up fast and 2 she said she has to work harder to keep up because her sister has a cruiser type bike {like one with beach bars} which didn't make sense to me, but maybe they are geared different, I was going to ask you what you recommend? Only want to spend around $1000 no more than that, because her sister isn't going to ride for long, its a fad and then this thing is going to sit in my garage for ever collecting dust... And if I'm on the bike I'm not riding through a park, my wife is a beast with me on the trails its a shame to waste that in a park on a cycle course or what ever you call it... I told her to just wait it out instead of buying another bike because her sister isnt going to stick with it and we will be donating this thing to good will in 2 years, but she knows better so, what do you think {the bike shop I go to doesnt even sell them bikes, so I think we are stuck with the internet}...

I have a feeling you can deal on a new car better than me. I also use Truecar but that only gives base pricing, you have to get the true invoice to add the options and packages.

I never deal with the sales reps, I go straight to the manager with all my homework done and the price I'm willing to pay along with a list of other cars I'm looking at to show them that I am not married to their brand. On this deal, I came out 1k under what I was willing to pay so I am pleased with the deal. The sticker on mine was $47 but it has a lot of options loaded on it.

Man, I know nothing about a Beach Cruiser. I found two very nice ones at my mother in law's yesterday. They have this old shed in the backyard that is always locked, yesterday it was unlocked so I went in their and there were two Cruiser's in there. They are probably 25 years old and in great shape. I may actually restore them for kicks but I also have no room for spare bikes.

If I were you, I would buy a second set of cheap wheels for her MTB and put slicks on them. That will make a good Cruiser bike for her bike path days and will only take 3 minutes to switch back for trail riding.

If you go to the top of the page truecar lets you choose all available options, the q5 has like 6 of them, starts off with a couple base models which is the 4cyl turbo engine, then onto the V6 models {which is what she got, premium plus}, and then a hybrid model... You can spend up to $50K easily...
Its a good place to start, but honestly every car I have bought in the last 5 years I have paid thousands under what that site says...

You are 100% correct about not showing them what you want, I always check to see what colors the have in stock and pick a color they don't have as what we wanted, did that with the jeep and it worked well, they come in a ton of colors so I seen they had no sand beige ones, so I told them that was what we had our hearts set on, and I told them I was leaning towards the toyota FJ since we own a lot of toyotas {when the truth of the matter was we wanted black or white, and I can't fit in a Toyota FJ to save my life, I tried and my frame is not fj friendly}... I cringe when I hear people walked into a dealership with no plan, some people say "I'm not a good talker" and that's not a problem, than dont talk, just look, they will do all the talking, then leave.. then when they call back, say "well I have a friend that payed this amount" they will say "that's way to low" and you say thats why next week Im going to go to the dealership they bought theirs at", they will bring the car to you with the papers to sign... They have to sell cars, that is the bottom line.... Every car they sell you is 1- a car they moved and 2- a car the competition did not move...

I always start with a salesman because I they are going to be your anchor, they want you to buy the vehicle, as a rule the sales manager can not get a salesman's commission and they can not sell a car without a salesman name on the paperwork, so you may as well have that guy on your side...

I was thinking about changing her wheels BUT, I think the wheels on that thing will cost $500, lol... and I think her issue is the gear ratio not all the tires.

she found one of these at out local shop for $700 Neko SL - Trek Bicycle She test rode it and said its much fast and smoother, but they have to get her size in and she didnt want to order it without checking with me first... I guess it will work, I just know nothing about them... I know where she rides I used to run there, and it is kind of sandy in some spots, asphalt in others so a real road bike wouldn't be a good idea...

I wish her sister would hurry up and hurt her ankle {just kidding}, since I hate my wife going to them parks with just her and her sister...

I never noticed the "option" section. I just put all my options in there and I am way under the cheapest price anyone paid. Now I am even happier.

There is a salesman name on my paperwork and he was there but he could tell he was way over his head and he just stayed in the corner and kept quite. He was a nice kid and had just started 1 week before I went in. It counted as his first sell. The good news is that he is a bartender at Ruth Chris on Wednesdays and he offered free drinks forever if I bought the car. He has text me on both Wednesdays since I got the car to make sure we were coming up for our free drinks. He will quickly realize that we can drink the price of the car within a year.

Right in the Trek ad it says "Fast 700c wheels" what more do you need? I may need to get me some fast wheels...lol...
