There's no magic beans.

If I ever ACCIDENTALLY stumble across these speakers and trip over them :D, I'll listen to them just like I would listen to any other speakers from any other brands. :D

But I have absolutely no desire to even call any dealers to find out. Unequivocally no curiosity whatsoever. Utterly Zippo. :D

I sure as heck wouldn't drive out of my way to hear them.

I'm not going to give any gravitas to every single claim about any speaker that just somehow manages to have better this or that compared to every other speaker.

How do I know if I have never heard them? Because I have heard a hundred other speakers that have made the same claim. Every single speaker has limitations, no exceptions.

And there ain't no magic beans.
I know when I heard the Salon2 in a store in Central Fl, I was thinking I wonder what I can sell, When I heard the Kef 207's and the 201's same thing but what I'm getting at is those speakers made me take notice and I had this 'I got to have thing' ( until the wife pulled me back into reality). I would like to hear the Bryston, just to see... Can't hurt to listen and keep an open mind..After all it is the sound that counts.

Yes, it doesn't hurt to listen to a million speakers that claim to be better. ;)

I was just giving my personal opinion that I have absolutely no urge whatsoever to audition them. I have more of an urge to audition Wilson Audio, Focal Utopia, RBH T8, etc.

But you guys have a good time. ;)

This seems to be your new favorite word. :)
He has been using his Webster a little more lately :D

gravitas ; high seriousness (as in a persons bearing or in the treatment of a subject )

I think that's the theme for this thread. ;) :D
That's exactly what I've been fighting for.. an open mind. When I opened this thread, I've never encountered so much negative response to a speaker that's hasn't been measured let alone heard. Then when measurements were posted, the negativity continued unabated, even the source of measurements were inapprorpriately labelled as trying to sell these speakers. Its the dumbest thing I've ever seen in these parts for quite some time.

I agree in principle, ATDG, but this case is a little different. The driving out of my way part is a little annoying, but I haven't been in an audio store since I bought my Velodyne, and I am getting a little itchy to get out in the audio world again.

Hopefully this post lasts longer than my previous one from yesterday morning.

3db: +1. Your post #245 above says it all and certainly better than I could or dare to say....

Ever since I posted my blatant open-minded subjective opinion regarding a certain speaker vs the B+W 802/800D and was hence excoriated for my pontification, I've tried to curb my enthusiasm. ;) :D

IMO any speaker could be considered the "greatest" to any given person, while concurrently be considered mediocre to others.

Any person could find the Bryston the best sounding just like any person could find the PSB Synchrony One the best, and so forth.

We just need to take it or accept it for what it is. No more and no less. :D

Oh, the gravitas. ;) :D :)

Until or if you hear them you just plain don't know.

One thing you are forgettingis that hearing is subjective and two experienced listeners could hear two totally different results. A speaker is an individual's "best fit" .

I would have hoped a person as vocal as you are would have owned/heard at least the Wilson or Focal. They are pretty much a well known standard to start from when comparing higher end gear. The Wilsons, I had the Sophia and WP they are atrocious sounding some Focal are quite good. Must ask what do you currently own? I see you have an ATI amp I had that with my Orions but what are your current speakers?

I'm pretty sure he is more than qualified to give his subjective opinion on speakers based on the one's he owns and has heard. He basically is a high end speaker store.
