I just got a 70' tv and I got a denon avr 1513 and pioneer sp fs52 speakers. I have it all set up and NOTHING is working. I have no idea why either. I have the hdmi cord in the monitor spot and plugged into my tv. I have the hdmi cord plug in the cab/sat spot into my cable box. I have went thru and followed the instructions on how to install it and it is not working. What am I missing??? Anyone have any idea?

It sounds like you don't have the correct input selected. Does it say cab/sat on the front display? Have you turned up the volume? Are the speakers properly connected? Do you have another HDMI cable you can substitute to see if you might have a defective one? If basic troubleshooting doesn't resolve it, give Denon a call on Monday.

When you say nothing works, does the radio tuner at least work?

When you say "all set up", did you go through the setup procedure as outlined in your manual?

These are not simple analog units like in the past where you could just plug in speakers and a source and you're good to go. They are complex digital computers that reproduce music. One must become familiar with their manuals.

But first, take it one step at a time. Plug the cable box directly into the TV and make sure it works like that. Then worry about getting sound out of the receiver. Then marry the two.

yes we have tried different wires but it is hooked up to the tv right now through the tv and works fine

no problem is not solved cause nothing works.
You need to work on your communication skills if you want help. We are trying to help but you don't make it easy.

We don't expect you to know audio but we do expect you to know how to clearly convey your thoughts.

You're simply spitting out a few words that you "think" tellus your problem when, in fact, they don't tell us anything. You've contradicted yourself more than once in this short thread already and I won't bother any more unless you clarify what the fletch you are talking about.

Basically, if you want us to take the time to try and figure out your problem and put it into words and steps you can follow, I expect you to extend to us the courtsey to at least take the time to clearly explain what your problem is.

Last I heard you said you did everything I said to do in my first post and you said everything worked, so we're done here. lol
