Hello to all and thank you in advance for looking at this and answering if you can.
Ive heard many opinions and views on topics concerning crossovers but need a little help making things sound good with what I have .....

Denon 3313 ci reciever
Pioneer Elite bluray
Energy Cf 70 tower
Energy Cc 10 center
Energy Cb 10 surround
Klipsch ks 25 rear surround
Outlaw Lfm 1 Plus Sub

My question is what would be a good starting point for crossovers and what should I set my lfe lpf setting at .....120hz or 80hz .....im trying to get the best sound I can from what I am using and ive tried a lot of different ways but none that sound good so maybe someone with more knowledge than me would be great.

I would suggest trying 80 Hz for the cutoff for all of your speakers. What you should pick should be low enough that you don't hear where the subwoofer is (because humans can determine which direction a sound is coming from though much of the hearing range, but not at the extreme ends), and high enough to be above the -3dB point of the bass of the other speakers. How much above depends on the speakers and on how loud you plan on playing it (generally, the higher the frequency, the louder the woofers in the main speakers can play because they will not be reproducing as much deep bass).

The automatic setup in your receiver ought to be able to deal with levels and delays.

For basic locations for where speakers should be placed, consult Dolby's website, as they give solid advice on such things. If you have questions about what they say, feel free to ask.

I agree that 80hz is good and I do play pretty loud at times so what do you mean -3db point could you elaborate a little on that ? And lfe , lpf setting is always at 120 should I put at 80 and then raise crossovers to 100hz on speakers?

The Energy CF-70 has a rated frequency response of 34Hz - 20kHz +/-3dB:

Energy : Search : CF-70

The Energy CC-10 has a rated frequency response of 60Hz - 20kHz +/-3dB:

The Energy CB-10 has a rated frequency response of 66Hz - 20kHz +/-3dB:

So, the crossover needs to be above 66Hz (the -3dB point) for the rear speakers. If your receiver allows it, then you can set the crossover frequency differently for the different channels. I would still start with 80 Hz for the center and rear, but might pick 60Hz for the front speakers. But 80 Hz for everything should be fine.

And lfe , lpf setting is always at 120 should I put at 80 and then raise crossovers to 100hz on speakers?

I don't understand what you are saying. You should be using the crossover in the receiver, and bypass the crossover in the subwoofer (if possible; if not possible, set the subwoofer itself to its highest frequency setting).

Send the bass from 80Hz and below from all channels to the subwoofer, and NOT to the other speakers (all speakers should be set to "small"). The LFE channel should simply be directed to the subwoofer, not to any other channels.

If that does not answer your concerns, please ask again, phrasing your question differently.
