See, I have the AT6012 in my front HT room rack now (one rack above Denon 5308). So I had to have handles for pure aesthetic reason. For $25. Come on. Give me a break.

BTW, I reinstalled the double-nutted screws in my AT6012 after I installed the front handles. So they ain't coming off!

Well, like Irv hinted to, we may just interpret the black slightly differently just like we may interpret colors differently. It is some form of "black". It's not exactly the same black level, but it's close enough to my other components.

BTW the new ATI amp handles & screws came today via FedEx. Parts $25, Shipping $19, total $44. Took me 1 minute to install. And yes, Irv, they make my amps sound better.

So these handles are worth $44.

Should be tomorrow.

While I was waiting I found the Lexicon reivew of the Lexicon ZX-7.

Lexicon ZX-7 Multi-Channel (300 watts x 7) Power Amplifier - Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity


From the back it look like the Outlaw 7900. it has the connection type auto-detection that reduces the input impedance to 10K from the ATI 28K.

The THD+N vs. Power Output measurement shows that the ZX-7 delivered 400 watts into 8 ohms before clipping (defined as 1% THD+N), and 600 watts into 4 ohms. At the spec of 300 watts into 8 ohms, distortion is 0.01%.

The measured Frequency Response was 10 Hz – 50 kHz, - 1 dB. Depending on the output voltage, the response rolled off. Notice that at 20 volts, it drops suddenly at about 72 kHz. Apparently, as voltage rises, the ZX-7 is designed to limit the frequencies out of the audible band.

Conclusions

The Lexicon ZX-7 is some kind of amplifier. Clear, detailed, and with enough power for even the most demanding aficionado, it is a highly recommended addition to your home theater portfolio.

Yeah, 400WPC/8ohm & 600WPC/4ohm sounds about right for the AT3000 amps. They are truly fully balanced arc welders @ a great price.

A lot of amps cost a lot more and aren't even fully balanced or have the 7 Yr warranty or made in the USA. Just saying.
