Bloomberg, NYC Want to Educate About Loud Music - ABC News
BoredSysAdmin Audioholic Slumlord Mar 8, 2013 #2 Before Bloomberg sticking his nose into audio he should look into addressing how loud NYC subway can be. On certain underground stations like 14th Street (east side) and 42st / Grand Central (I assume due to curve in tracks) train arrival and departure is accompanied by loudest and most annoying screech you ever heard. What worse since the stations are closed in the sound has no where to go but to reflect from wall back to your ears. Unless I have in-ear headphone already on, I literally to stick fingers in ears to protect the hearing. For sh1ts and giggles I should bring my SPL meter one day and see the numbers. I think Mr mayor needs to start looking at laws to prevent boys from wearing their pants below their butts before I would even tackle the idea of "turn it down"

I don't think it's a bad idea, what me and others says is - This campain a cheap and low-hanging fruit and IMHO Mr Bloomberg have to avert his attention to more important subjects like preparing city to be better ready for next Sandy. Improving quickly aging infrastructure is critical for NYC. Keep in mind the subway is over 100 years old and many roads are as old (aka pretty narrow)

I'd like to think that's a job for their mommies & daddies....or just baby mama. Maybe if he just prioritized things a bit. Oh, I don't ...possibly tackle the pi$$ smell in the subway and their stations first.
