Audio appears and disappears on my Pioneer vsx 522 k..

I'm having problems with my Pioneer 522 vsx k. I am a new owner and i have tried everything I could but whenever I touch the dvd remote and fast forward a movie the audio would disappear? So I would go to the home menu of my vsx and go to HDMI settings and mess with it and back to the movie and the audio would come back on? Also on my sat/cbl there is no sound at all. So I end just using my TV speakers and turn off the reciever. Any Idea? Thanks a bunch!

Try a reset back to factory default and reset up the receiver. If that does not work you need to return that receiver under warranty. I suspect the HDMI board is faulty.

Regarding the DVD audio, which DVD player do you have?

For the sat/cbl, how do you have it hooked up when you try to get audio through the receiver? If it's using HDMI, be sure that you set up the sat/cbl device to output audio over HDMI, and that you set up the 522 to use the HDMI input as the audio source.
