I would rather not publish passive prices, but feel free to contact us for pricing and information on passive versions, FYI for passive the 18.0C would offer the best deal(and is the same size as the 15.0).
You guys need a sub $1000 Option!!! Also I want to come visit one day, next summer.

That's like saying Porsche needs a Miata competitor. There are more sub-$1K subs (no pun intended) than anyone can shake a stick at. If you want a really premium product there aren't that many great options. Premium brands are almost always better off sticking to premium products.

Yes we have no plans for products priced below our current offerings for subwoofers, its simply not "what we do".

The next addition to our subwoofer lineup will be our new "flagship", a dual opposed 18" for $9,000-12,000(depending on options).

Ps; to AcuDefTechGuy; you may like the fact that this new subwoofer will come with the amp(s) seperate, at this level of product built in amp(s) is simply not practical, especially with the options planned, doable but would compromise the goal of a "no holds" product.

If you look at some competing products, I think it may be quite good what you do...

Kef's top of the line 209 sub with one 18" driver is around $13k, if I understand coirrectly, hard to compare apples and oranges, or your sub's and Kef's but seems like you may provide more value for money....

Did you compare your sub's to the competition, or more specifically, that special competing product?

Well, I work with Porsche, and their cheapest full sized SUV is cheaper then Acura's cheapest full sized SUV, another company I work with... So you don't have a point. Porsche and Acura are nothing more then a name, badge, and pronunciation. People have made great options for 400-500 dollars. Why can't Funk? They say it's not in their namesake. Besides a few cult followers, they are not a household name, and never will be starting at 1 grand. Sorry it took so long to insult you, I will be more vigilant in the future.

The least you can do is get your facts straight before turning up the obnoxiousness level. The Porsche Cayenne is not cheaper than the Acura MDX. At least in the US the Cayenne starts at $48,850, and the MDX starts at $43,280. Nathan can speak for himself, but it doesn't seem like he's looking to be a household name, he's about quality and craftsmanship and high performance.

Oh, I get it now, you're talking about that ZDX crossover thing at $50K. It just didn't occur to me that was a Cayenne competitor. I'd withdraw my comment, but this forum limits editing. Still, I don't agree with you.

I probably will never agree with you, but there wouldn't be a forum like this if everyone agreed :p
Disagreements make it interesting :p

Get my facts straight? I work FOR both of them. Base model MDX in Canada, $53,190.

Ah, you're Canadian. And the Cayenne is C$56,600. So, how are your facts straight?

I'm still lost about why you're insulting Funk. What's up with that?

ya, for what its worth, FA seems to be the place to go for larger subs. i would tend to believe that the 15 inch offerings will meet the standards that they have laid out from the benchmark 18.0 and give hsu, rythmik, etc a run for their money.

I don't think Funk is quite playing the same game that Rythmik and Hsu are, Funk is more expensive with much finer cabinetry and higher performance. The cheapest Funk sub is more expensive than the priciest Hsu and Rythmik subs. From my perspective, I would say generally speaking Hsus are the best subs you can get from 500 to $1k, Rythmik the best deal going from $1k to $2k, JTR or Seaton from $2k to 3, and Funk above that.

i was remarking on the size (amp, driver, cab) and performance and hadn't taken cost into consideration. the run for the money was just a thing to say.
but i totally agree with you the cost/performance aspect and what you've stated above. but i can't ignore the fact that for the dollar HSU and Rythmik are good value and perform admirably well, and the customers seem happy with their products.
i wonder how popular these new speakers will be? and i wonder how well they will perform if databass gets ahold of em?
