Not sure if I should return my speakers

My receiver is sitting on an open table with space around it and nothing on top of it.
Would you mind sharing your room dimensions, how far you sit from the front mains and what SPL you typically listen to? Regardless, looking at the specs, the P363 may sound loud enough for you without going all the way to some high sensitivity Klipsch models that may not sound anything similar to the Pioneer that you seem to like.

I've heard both the Goeff Jones Pioneer line and the Klipsch speakers (last year) at Best Buy. No comparison: Louder # better sound, IMNSHO

But, for HT, it might not matter.

My room dimensions are 10.5' x 18' x 6.5'. I primarily watch movies and don't turn the volume up that loud. I would say I listen at roughly 80dB from 6ft away. I just noticed that one of my floor standers has 3 small nicks on the top edge of the speaker. It is not that noticeable unless you view the speaker up close. I am not sure if I did this or best buy did. I did buy the speakers open box and I didn't notice any nicks when I brought the speaker home. Because of this I am not sure that I could return my speakers now because of the nick. Actually, I could return the other floorstander and the center speaker; just not the floorstander with the nick.

I probably wouldn't return my speakers at this point anyways. Since the front three were all open box I only box $180 for the pair of floorstanders and $70 for the center speaker. The pair of sp-bs21 speakers only cost me $40 at newegg because it was a black friday sale. I was going to save for the Hsu Stf-2 subwoofer which I could get in a few months and that would likely solve my problem for now in addition to using a fan. When I save even more money I can sell my pioneer set and buy some more efficient speakers.

Sound like a plan, keep them, tell your Sony to stay cool and help is on the way.:D
