I can feel myself getting even more nerdy as I type this, but I must respond.

Kirk.

Green alien women, bald alien dudes - it didn't matter. The man was a giver. :D

Of all the possible stills you could have posted, you picked the one with Jim holding a giant fossilized alien phallus. Just what are we supposed to deduce from that?:D

Golly, now that you mention it, it does kind of look like that.

I had to look that up. You're going Deep Space 9 on us?
One of the few things I remember from DS9 was that the hot chick (Jadzia Dax) had a 300 year old worm inside her. ...of course Kirk would have still have slipped her his worm :D

Man, now this thread has lost all its coolness.

:p :D
The Dominian War was worth enduring all the cheese. TNG had a lot of cheese and very little meat.

As a kid I remember watching the original series every weekday evening, because that's what we watched in our house, and because there were only 4 channels. I didn't really get into the other series, but I'm sure I've seen atleast half of the hundreds of TNG episodes because for a while there, TV programming was saturated with it. I do have to admit, Deanna Troi (sp?) had an awesome rack. I do also remember seeing the very first airing of the first episode DS9. I think I caught a few episodes here and there, but I can't say it was something I went out of my way to see. I definitely didn't watch it enough to realize there was a Dominion War going, but I may do some catching up via DVD. I'll give James T Kirk my vote, what he lacked in acting ability, he more than made up for in personality and style.

IMO from the end of Season 5 thru 7, it was the most action packed and character developed Star Trek series ever done. The Dominion wars with fleet battles rivaled anything the movies (especially JJ Trek) ever did. The animators from BB5 helped in this arena and it was pretty awesome.

Sadly, there will never be another show like it as its cheaper to produce "reality" tv and singing contest shows. The general public mostly prefers dumbed down programs like that over anything thought provoking like Trek.

Gene found the Trek thread...who'd of thought.:D

An ex-coworker would always say that DS9 got to be the best of the franchise. I just couldn't watch it. The first year was so bad that I couldn't go any further.

It certainly had its appeal. OTOH, IMO/E TNG episodes like Skin Of Evil are still memorable decades later whereas the only thing I distinctly remember about the Dominion war was the Prophet's intervention.

Pauly D. vs Justin Guarini. Discuss!!!

As I'm relatively new here, I don't know the extent of what I've gotten myself into. Are we talking average trekkie, or someone like Michael Wong?
