Curly cherry with the LCY ribbon tweet.
I think these were $2400 new (please correct me if I have that wrong).
They are like new!
The catch is I do not have packaging for them, so would prefer local pickup (Atlanta area. I am willing to drive a few hours)
Too late to get pictures tonight and I'm traveling through Tuesday, but I can assure you that they have no blemishes and are in excellent condition.
I'll post pics Tuesday-Wednesday.

For anyone who has craved SongTowers, this is a very good deal!

I have an unsolicited comment on the LCY ribbon tweeters in these speakers - they are excellent! This tweeter is and always was a good one.

Around the same time Salk started using the more expensive RAAL ribbon tweeters in the top-of-the-line Soundscape 10 and 12 speakers, LCY (a small Chinese manufacturer) ran into manufacturing problems with its ribbon tweeters. All the tweets that Salk received were fine, but LCY had many QC failures that led to delayed deliveries. Because the RAAL ribbon tweeter was available to Salk in larger quantities and without delays, Salk decided to switch from LCY ribbons in its various models such as this one above, and instead use the RAAL ribbon. It made things simpler for Salk to stock one ribbon tweeter instead of two different ones.

There is a lot of positive buzz on the internet about the RAAL tweeter. It is an excellent and expensive tweeter. But it would be wrong to conclude that the LCY tweeter, as implemented in Salk speakers such as the Ribbon ST or the HT2-TL, is inferior.

KEW - Just a thought, if you can only find a buyer who can't pick these speakers up locally or meet you somewhere, you might contact Jim Salk and see what he suggests about shipping. He may be able to send you the packing materials for a nominal price.

Photos will go up tomorrow.
I got in after dark, but plan to throw a rug down on the patio, and get some pictures in natural lighting.

Thanks, that is definitely in the sequence. I figure that will cost a bit, shipping will cost a bit, and there is still the risk of shipping damage (though I know Jim has worked on the packaging to get it right).
Right now, I'm hoping to be able to give an Audioholic an exceptional deal without adding cost or risk.

Have you heard these? They have a very fulfilling golden ripe sound with a firm, yet oh, so smooth texture that infuses you with a sense of warmth and well-being!:

You need these!:)

SongTower - Pics!

More pics:

I inspected in sunlight and discovered one blemish on these. This is the left rear corner of the cabinet, 1-1/2 inches below the top and is 1/2" long (3 dings):

Even the backs are book-matched (the wood grain is mirror image between the two cabinets - by using adjacent slices of the wood)

The tops are like new:

Grills are also like new. You can see a little of the drivers underneath.

Example of wood grain:

I just noticed the banana in the photo… Hmmm.

Isn't it kinda strange to only have one banana instead of the usual matched stereo pair?

Also, unless you have some special packaging in mind, I don't think that banana will survive FedEx handling.

Congrats to the seller on his sale & his new replacement speakers, and to the buyer!

I saw the new Phil 3 cabinets today, in mahogany. There are subtle visual improvements. They are now at the hotel set up and ready for the Capitol AudioFest.

Yeah, I was joking around. The banana post to Alex didn't "play" as well as I had hoped, but if you read the description I gave of the sound, it is more a description of the banana - subliminal seduction for monkeys!

I would never seriously say the SongTowers have a "fulfilling golden ripe sound". They are far too clean and neutral for that description!

Sure wish I could make the AudioFest!

The banana post to Alex...
[FACEPALM]

Ahhh, I get it now. When I first saw that, I was thinking, "Holy ish, he put his snack on top of it?!? That's even worse than the people who don't dust their gear before they post pics to sell it." Then again, me being one of the slower kids on the block isn't anything new. :D

It was far too subtle for us. If you had stuffed three bananas into each rear port, we might have gotten the joke on first read :D.

If the CAF is anything like last year's show, the Philharmonics will be among the best speakers there. Last year I did hear a few other speakers I liked, but they cost 3-10 times as much. I'm not exaggerating. There were also a few speakers that sounded positively awful. One well known high-end speaker, which cost $28,000 per pair, sounded so shrill that every cockroach, mouse, or other vermin within half a mile fled or died !

I caught the significance of the banana immediately but didn't know what to say. I was being ... well I don't know what it's called but I was being somethinged ... by a pro. Maybe 'reeled in' is the word. :)

Two terms come to mind: 1. not being able to take 'no' for an answer and 2. an offer he couldn't refuse. I can't put all that into a sentence and have it make sense but I'm grateful and humbled all at once.

In that post you said, "You need these!" That's seeing into the future.

It'll take me a day or two to recharge the rep batteries but the points cometh.

Right now it's sack time. 3:30 AM is coming like a freight train.
