I'm in north fort worth, tx (zip 76131). I usually buy my beer at local grocery stores - the kroger 5 minutes from my house has a decent selection from what I've seen: various german and belgian imports, giant bottles of duvel, la fin du monde, chimay, a lot of others I haven't tried, etc. They probably sell beer glasses in the household goods section, but I've never checked.

I recently rented out another room to a friend, and she's got a Costco membership. I'll start going there with her I guess. I just hate going to stores unless I absolutely have to. My grandparents are nice enough to pick me up the giant kirkland TP thing whenever they go (they only live 10 minutes away from me). I get a lot of things from amazon on the subscribe and save thing and I'll usually just go to Kroger for the rest. I never even thought about Costco's beer selection, since I've not been to one in years. If it's decent, that'll give me even more reason to go :D

All I've been trying to do in the last few months is try a lot of new beer, since I've only been drinking it since december. I haven't been keeping a list, but I think I've tried 60 or so. Most of them have been pretty good :)
There's a specks up in your neck of the woods, but it looks like it's not close. The store down here has a pretty good selection of beers, and they have glasses too. They have a discount for paying with cash.
Dallas: Liquor,Wine,Beer

Central Market here is having a beer sale - 20% off under $25 and 25% off purchases over $25.

It's strange how in Texas it's perfectly normal to be server beer in a bottle with no glass. Even in places that should know better.

Flying Saucer has a good selection and they will serve in the correct glass.

Oh, and more on topic I'm having a real ale sisyphus. :)

Ok, time for me to finally play along:

Neisson Rhum Agricole, rocks. Neisson is possibly my favorite brand, though I still like JM a lot, and Clement as well. Agricole is a cheater's cocktail to me, because I don't need to do anything to it. Even with whiskies do I prefer to do things with them, old fashioned, boulevardier (I've been trying a different version with Cynar & Aperol, very good), whiskey smash, sour, julep (while it's pretty much whiskey on the rocks, it does still call for mint), etc. I've tried at least one cocktail with an agricole, I've decided it's just pointless.

What do you think about these glasses? $20 for four on Amazon.
First of all, I know I don't like them because they are too small.

Even if it was big enough, I wouldn't know how much I liked it until I tried using it with at least a couple of different beers.

And even if I liked the beers with it, I think 4 is overkill, unless you host guests often that all like to drink fine beer from a glass. I should be more specific, I think 4 is overkill if this larger purchase means you get to experience fewer glasses of different shapes, owing to any sort of budget in mind.

Call these places, and ask if they carry Duvel glasses, and ask for the cost. If they have it and it's no more than say $7 or whatever, I say it's worth it to stop by, and also check out what else they have.

I don't think there's a need to go there unless, well, you need to. Beer selection is extremely limited. They will probably have a Sam Adams variety case, Kirkland variety case, Heineken, Stella, Amstel, Newcastle. IIRC, the Amstel was only like $18.50. I only buy a couple of case or two a year there probably.

If and when you find the right glasses, backtrack this thread and have many of the same beers again, but "for the first time". ;) I scanned a lot of this thread just now, and those smooth Paulaners I'd prefer in a different type of glass, but the Anchor Porter or Duvel and others, I'd prefer in the Duvel. Make sure to pay attention that the beer is not too cold, because you really can miss out on the flavor when it is. I suppose you can pour, take a sip every so many minutes and pay attn I guess.

Haha. I do tend to drink relatively quickly, but I don't chug.

Unrelated to drinking quickly, but related to drinking: I had an ADT rep at the house monday morning and he probably thought I was some sort of alcoholic, since it was 0815 and I was having an Abita Satsuma Wit :D

I figured you'd go buy one of these...

The thing I like most about a glass is releasing the CO2. Then the added flavor from the aroma.

I had a little trouble with this at first.
The powdered jello got stuck in my throat. However it was washed down perfectly with the Tequila.

:D
What....don't judge me.:D

I love watching and trying to coach all the ladies on how to get all the jello out of the little sauce cups with their tonque!

They are all like, how do you consume these?!
