Buy them if you want - however, the Pioneer will have a richer,
and more full sound. The Monoprice looks like one that maybe,
will sound decent in a walk-in closet.
For twice the price, and 2 speakers with no sub, yes, they are better quality I'm sure. I think you're missing the point of my query: for the price, will I be able to get by with them and not just be angry as a squirrel who lost his nuts (I'm really tired, I have no idea where that came from) that I bought them, until I can upgrade to a $600-700 speaker set?
In other words, are you saying the Monoprice speakers are really that terrible, or just that you assume they are terrible because they are cheap and from monoprice? Read any reviews or heard them yourself? Maybe know some stats I don't know? Something solid I can work from is what I'm asking.
I guess I wasn't clear enough. The Onkyo home theater in a box systems are not like your Philips htiab. It comes witha real receiver with real receiver features and connection options. At least look at what they have to offer before burying your head in the sand.
I'm sorry, I did a piss-poor job of reading that post apparently. I remember reading it the first time and them only being listed as a HTiaB... I see now that you clearly said it has a full receiver. I will definitely give those some consideration.
