Put your CD back in its case when you're done. No problem. Never needs to be backed up like a hard drive!

True, but I can move data from room to room more easily, even leave it in a hot car if I want.

I have had more failures from CD than hard drive I have to say (crushed cases while moving, scratches from fumbling while in the car)
