Yo Mike!
I'd like to hear your impressions of the SVS's compared to the Kefs. I almost bought those Kef's bigger brothers before I decided to try the Ascend Accoustic's 340se/170se's and now I have SVS MTS-01/MCS-01's. (still using the 170se's as surrounds)

i couldn't do A/B tests, but based on memory (as in listen, disassembly, assembly, listen)
the KEF's sound "lighter" "thinner" "seems to be more detailed" i guess due to the higher sensitivity. even when i turn up the volume, the M's don't seem to reach the "KEF sound", the M's sound "more solid" though "fuller". [i couldn't fit 'chocolatey' and 'danceable' in there]
in a word, i would hazard that the KEF Q1 is brighter while the M's are neutral pushing warmer.
the M bookshelf is ginormous and spectacularly heavy. the Q1 pair is probably lighter than a single MBS. that said, i've A/B'ed the Q1 even with a Monitor Audio GS10 and i did not feel i was missing a bit.
your 01's will actually be less bright and less flat than the 02, but sport the 200usd scanspeak tweeters. (MBS-01 is flat to 17khz, the MBS-02 is flat to 19khz and sans the peak and dip near the cx point)
i have not reviewed the MTS spec sheet (which is posted at the svs website, i requested the MBS-01 spec sheet from SVS because i was choosing between the MBS-01 and 02)
