BTW i really dig the grey color you used it very similar to the color i used: Behr "Seal".

I dont remember if the pics i posted in my thread show the white shadow boxes i put up but its also similar to your room with all the white trim. Looks very sharp!! Great job!!!

LOL. The majority of my room is light grey and the main wall is a much darker shade in the same family that looks a lot like "seal" also; I think it is called "storm cloud" or something like that though. The color I was looking at originally was called "porpoise" though.

All in all that def looks like a nice room set up where I would spend a lot of time there.

To me a nice deep grey is the best color for a viewing room. Its more imprtant for someone with a front projector but i still like that a darker grey helps eliminate tinted reflections on the screen or effecting the tone of the screen. Ive seen dedicated rooms that are bright red or blue. I dont quite understand it, i know those are design choices & everyone is entitled to paint their room whatever they like but thats a little distracting to me.

I think the colors used here are perfect & Pensecola made great choices in more way then one.

The paint used was Behr Tortoise Shell.... or some type of turtle... add that to sea life paint color names.

The Def Techs have done me well. I understand that I am giving up some with in walls, but I am happy with the sound. Being able to aim the tweeter is a big plus. I listened after installing with the tweeter straight on, then aimed them toward the listening position. Big difference with them toed-in.

The grills and the painting process is easy but requires a paint sprayer. With them mounted, the paint looks solid but if you hold the grill up to a light you can see thru it a good bit.

I have had a pair of Myths 8's, not able to toe those in when on wall and less bass from 8's.

Just added a pair of Clark Synthesis transducers (Silver) So for so good. At one time, I had the mounted in the back but had to raise the seat to get enough clearance from the floor... which was not easy and never really used them. This time, I put in a support and used it for mounting.

Have a Dayton SA240 pushing them. I did not try it to much tonight as we drilled the screw holes and then added glue before the screws. Looking for all that to cure before really cranking them up.

Been able to work on the room a little more. Took the popcorn ceiling off and put up two acoustic panels - OC 703 - 2 inch. This was my first experience with panels and I am not sure why I waited so long. Did the mirror placement thing and it really worked well. The results are excellent. Hearing more intricate details and seems like there is a better sound stage.

Nice addition with the tactile transducers! I have an Earthquake MQB-1 in my couch powered by an Earthquake 180w amp. I have it turned way down because it can literally be too much

Hey how is your deep bass extention? Having a 12" handle the mid-bass & 10" handling the low bass seems a little backwards. No disrespect, just curious!!

Ceiling looks awesome...much better!
Room treatments are so important, more people should at least address their first reflections. Well done!!

It does seem a bit backwards, but with that small of a room, the 10" does fine for the low end and the MBM 12" has lot of headroom. I stuffed it as suggested but still have to turn it way down so that it will blend in. Still have the hsu test tones disc and ran thru the step they suggested. The MBM is to the left of the seating. I found it best to set the crossover at 90 hz and have the mbm take 50 - 90 and the SVS 50 and below. Anything over 90 made it easy to spot the placement of the mid bass. In fact, I am not sure that the crossover shouldn't be down another notch to 80 hz. Will play with it later.
