Do a search, there are one or two people who have that kit here. Seemed to be positive on its performance.

For ~$800 though, you have quite a few solid choices in subs.

I haven't seen any sub on the market that sells a 15" sub with a 1000watt power supply for $800?

Do you know of one?

It's a sealed 15" sub with 1000W PMPO - check for reviews on PE - it's need to be ported and the amp is not 1kw - not even peak 1kw.

You'd be better off with new SVS PB12-NSD or eD A5 - 350 will give the Titanic run for it's price - eD btw has free CON-US shipping

OK, good to know. I've been leaning towards a SVS PB12-PLUS but I'm a little nervous about a ported design.

ED A5-350 is 800 shipped conus...and you can't just compare subwoofers with just driver size and amplifier wattage. There are a lot of other factors to consider.

I bought mine a few years back for $500 & free freight. For that, they are a killer deal. I prefer the sound of a sealed sub in most cases, but for the $800 they cost now, there are others that could be just as good or better.

If you need more precise sub for mostly music - I'd go with Sealed sub
Lower frequencies are typically able to archive lower frequencies needed for movie content.

If you want both I'd look for ported servo sub from Rythmic or ported subs from SVS

Which offers more, the Rythmic or the SVS?

600watt's in a 15" sub, does that seem like enough? What do they mean by Direct Servo? Is this just a marketing scheme?
Servo drive has been around for many years and works very well. Rythmik's subs are pretty highly regarded. I've heard one of their subs and it was a very good sub. I drove a 15" vented sub with one of their 370W plate amps and it handled it just fine even in a fairly large room.

You can't tell by looking at specs if the wattage is enough. What you need to do is call one of the companies, tell them the size of room you have and they will tell you if what you are looking at is sufficient.

That sub certainly doesn't need to be ported and could certainly hold it's own against commercial offerings. That being said I'd suggest building your own box and getting a better driver than the titanic.

One of these in a small sealed box produces amazing performance.
