I've only had a Roku (2 XS) for a couple of weeks so I thought I'd ask the old pros. Have you seen many outages? I've seen two outages in two weeks but I don't use it much. I'll be watching something in the middle of the night (around 1 or 2am PDT) and it freezes. If I reset the box the Roku logo just bounces until I give up on it. I'm assuming a connection or server issue because that's what it appears to be. Do they go down for maintenance late at night? Or maybe crash now and then? It seems mostly reliable but that's the time slot I bought it for.

It has happened to me (orig entry model Roku), and it is not a Roku issue rather a Netflix issue. If the Roku logo bouncing around, it should have just went to the screen saver. I have yet to have to have the Roku itself freeze or glitch on me.

There won't really be Roku "outages"; Roku isn't streaming anything most of the time; they're the hardware provider, not the content provider. There may be firmware upgrades from time to time, and occasionally I've had to restart my Roku (or it restarted for me), but it sounds more like you're having ISP problems.

That's for the replies. I've had it happen twice, once while watching Netflix and once while watching Revision3. The display freezes and the box stops responding to the remote.

If the unit is freezing and unresponsive to the remote, you may have a bad unit.
