Finally, I can pay my comcast bill without bile and anger welling up from deep inside. I actually don't feel ripped off any more.
For one bundled price, we get.
1) Phone service with features comparable to what I had with Verizon.
2) High-speed Internet which feeds three computers and a wireless internet ready Blu-Ray player.
3) Cable TV with great picture, HD in two out of four rooms, virtually all movie and sports channels, with on-demand, and basic cable in the other two at no additional charge. (let the guests fend for themselves.)
4) This is the kicker. We travel at least one weekend a month and every place we stay has free high-speed wireless internet. We can access comcast on the internet via our laptops and have access to on-demand features from anywhere. No more constantly flipping through 200 local channels with nothing on.
The price has not changed in two years. Now that FIOS has arrived, it provides excellent leverage. When it does go up, I call Comcast, speak to their "retention" specialist, and explain that we are very satisfied with what we have and can live with the price we're currently paying. (I don't mention # 4
) I let them know that if they raise the prices, I'll actively look into other options. It doesn't need to be said that we both know that other providers offer great incentives to switch o them. That's all it takes.
So, as long as everything stays the same, we'll be happy campers.
