Gene has given up on the big Audioholics Shows. The rest of us in the Florida gang have been pretty lazy about organizing stuff. Even RJ and Joe up in Oregon have pretty much laid off big GTG's. I think the last meet with members was in the PA/NJ area with Doug, Rick, Alex, etc.

Hey, now that I have new wheels on the way, I'd be willing to travel. Might have to turn it into the "Mobile AH Showcase Theater". Just need Gene and Clint to help hook me up. :D

I'd love a AH GTG. I just couldn't make the last one AH put on. Rick's GTG was great and Alex was very well behaved until him a Mark started swapping stories...:D

A northeast GTG (Philly/Poconos/NYC area) could generate a decent turnout.

Cayman Islands?

Have it down here in the Cayman Islands. Our annual Pirates Week festival is a good time for all November 11-19. The first weekend is probably the best with the Pirates sea invasion, parade and street dances although the trial of the Pirates for the closing weekend is hilarious.

I could probably arrange a tour of my friends 2011 award winning house here.

I just checked airfare from Miami to Grand Cayman on www.kayak.com and it was like $385 roundtrip on Cayman Airways and $420 on American Airlines. Combine that with some of their hotel and rental car specials and get an even better deal!

Matt, if you haven't been to the Oregon coast, I can highly recommended it.
You can visit RJ and Joe and drive up and down the coast. You'll find some of the best seafood places, and great beer at the Rogue brewery. Visit the Aviation Museum http://www.evergreenmuseum.org/
Joe and RJ are two of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and own enough equipment to have a small GTG.

See what I've done there...I've single-handedly invited you to Joe and RJ's homes for a GTG :D ... You might want to give them a call first.:D
If you can wait for next July, you can meet some undesirables here in NJ.

My wife would love a east coast gtg as she spent most of her childhood in philly. I would prefer the northwest, I've flown through Seattle a couple times but that's it.

What about Tennessee. Get Emotiva to give us a tour.

Maybe Cleveland, go out to SVS?

I'm actually plan a two week trip family vacation (me and wife) in this time frame - Nov 7 - 19
Cayman Islands is a potential in my short list of places to visit.
How's the typical weather during this time? Ok to swim in ocean?

Everyone is welcome, anytime.

Actually, I'm the guilty party for skipping this years Northwest GTG - I think RJ was more than willing, but I didn't realize how much time could be wasted.. er, I mean invested in new grandchildren, and how many of them two kids can produce in a short time (a third one a few weeks old, and another due soon). Anyway, where once we had spare rooms for speakers, subs, amps, etc., now there are cribs, playpens, and toys - even though they are only here on the weekends. Doh! Maybe next year.

Mazer and I can be down there in no time. :D

Actually, I'm way past due for a "Space Coast GTG". I doubt we'd get much support from AH in any future events, but I'm always willing to beg and plead.

Sorry I couldn't swing the last one with work troubles and all.
But I'll be there for the next one. Fuzzy pink flip flops and Twister spinner in hand.

Emotiva would probably be an easy tour to set up. Great bunch of people to work with. They have a fifth wheel trailer set up with a mobile theater they call the "Mobile Emotiva Lounge". If you get with them early enough, they are willing to travel to GTG's.

Everyone is welcome, anytime.

STOP YOUR COMPLAINING GRANDPA

I think you should volunteer RJ's house.
Just pick the week they're traveling to Washington visiting relatives.

Guys;

I am toying with the idea of co-hosting a G2G in Clearwater Florida. It would be a very informal event, no fancy dinners, etc. Just a bunch of rooms rented where people can setup equipment and demos. It's difficult b/c hotels typically have a min food purchase order and the last time we held an event, we spent a ton of money of food and people didn't even show up to our dinner event to eat it. Alternatively it may be feasible to rent out a house near the beach and setup demo rooms there too. I welcome some suggestions.

If you want to rent a house on the beach, New Jersey is famous for them. The trouble is getting one that's not overrun with loud, rowdy Noo Yawkers.

See how Joe swapped playing in one hobby for another?! Now we can't get him out of the cribs. :D Anyway, don't believe him. Joe still has more speakers than anyone on this forum.

Actually, instead of a GTG, this year we had an Audioholics Deranged Personality Seminar. ;) ;)

Gene,

With as bad as the economy is here in Florida, you might be better off contacting a commercial realtor or property management company about a piece of vacant commercial property you could rent for a weekend. I'm sure there's tons of vacant store fronts or office spaces that could easily be used for a meet. Best part is that most office complexes are unoccupied on weekends so loud music wouldn't be a bother to other tenants.

I'd forget the hotel idea. They are just going to complain about noise and charge you up the wazoo for everything from table to chairs. There's plenty of little restaurants that could cater for cheap and lots of party supply places looking to rent chairs and tables.
