NHTs & Pioneers were my first real speakers. I thought they sounded great.

Since then I have listened to a lot more speakers ranging from $600/pr to $23,000/pr MSRP.

And the really funny thing is, I think most of these speakers sound kind of alike:eek:; most of them sound pretty good.:D

I think the OP did very very well getting the $12K Infinity Prelude Forty for $5K.

I suppose he could have gotten the Philharmonic speakers or so many other speaker for the similar price. But in the end, they all sound pretty darn good.:)
+1

Anything would have sounded better than what I had

Hmmm, good point. Must...fight...smiley...face...
Hey it certainly brightens my day. Keep it up.

Basically I still need a center channel. I was wondering if you guys also knew of high quality cd players. I'd like to think my blu ray player could handle my cd listening needs, but...darn it i know it just can't. I do do most of my listening on vinyl now adays, but its also a big hassle sometimes. Also what is Bi amp wiring and should I go for it?

I looked for a matching center channel earlier this morning, but I didn't find a sure winner. I figured that an Infinity speaker with matching drivers would work well. They have the Cascade 3C (shown below), but it's discontinued. I don't see any other centers from them with those drivers.

Why don't you think that your blu-ray player will do well playing CDs?

Could you elaborate? I would assume i would need a good processor. The guy at the store described it as being able to take away most if not all of the digital harshness. I just fell in love with that idea.
Boy am I late to this party. I LOVE this statement by the sales guy. How the hell is an amp going to remove anything?!?! It's an amp, it AMPLIFIES. By it's very definition if you were to have "digital harshness" it would just make it louder. Plus it's an amp, not a processor.

Gotta love the BS that some salespeople get away with.

Welcome. Come on in

I just know that they make hi end cd players for a reason, and a blu ray player doesnt seem like it would fit the bill. I am happy to be wrong

And what unique internal component makes such a CD Player 'high end'? To what capacity does it make a difference within the threshold of human audibility, as it turns zeroes and ones into equivalent electrical signals ready for preamplification? What is the measurable evidence of such a phenomenon? What measured behaviour denotes digital harshness and its absence analogue smoothness?!

P.S. - $$$$$$$
P.P.S. - now you just need three Funkywaves LMS5400 subs!!!
