Nope! I don't even know if there's a pair of Philharmonics in Canada yet! Maybe if I save up and order them, I can give you a review :D

I sure do like the Philharmonic 1 or 2, I've been looking at the Salk HT2 and the 3 until I saw these speakers.

Yeah, especially the Philharmonic 2...how many tower speakers, for $2000, can you buy that have a RAAL ribbon tweeter?

Went with Infinity prelude speakers. found a great deal for them on amazon. They're almost as big as me. Lol.

Id still need a center channel, and im not convinced just yet I dont need an amplifier of some sorts

I say this because ive noticed it needs 8ohms, while my onkyo can only give it 6.

Any inexpensive options?

The lower the impedance (Ohm rating), the more current a speaker will draw from an amp. Lower impedances are more difficult for amps, so the Onkyo will be able to handle an 8-Ohm load just fine.

That's not to say that you wouldn't want a separate amp for higher volumes, or better dynamics at higher volumes. I just wanted to explain the Ohm rating.

So I'm fine? I dont want to spend more if im not gonna get more bang for the buck. I mean, these sound better then I could have imagined. Not very easy to compare them to the vienna's, but I can say they sound great.

You have the Onkyo 707? That unit has some good power to it. I'd recommend trying it out and seeing if you're happy before even thinking about buying another amp.

Really? ok...nvm then. still need a center channel. Those speakers pump out good bass. Do I really need a subwoofer to go along with it? They take up so much room...

The Infinity Prelude in Rosewood finish?

Retail for $12,000/pr, on amazon for $5,000/pr shipped?:D

They look nice, and probably sound fantastic. It's Infinity, so probably sound like Revel speakers?:D

Funny thing I was just looking at those speakers a few days ago for fun.

I bet they measure a lot more accurately than any Vienna Acoustic speakers.

All the Harman International speakers (Revel, JBL, Infinity) have the same goal of making speakers that measure well on-axis and off-axis. Heck, even their cheap Infinity P363 measure a lot more accurately than the $58K Vienna Acoustic speaker system.:D

So was I. I forget if they were listed on dealnews or I saw them mentioned on here, but I was also looking at them on Amazon.
Man, this is totally WEIRD!!!!!

Just for fun I even placed them on my Amazon shopping cart!!!!:D

Free 2-day Amazon Prime shipping and everything!:D

And then I was day-dreaming about how they would sound and where I would put them.

So weird.:D

What I want to know is why the OP bought them?

Because of the 58% off MSRP?:D

Oh, sorry, probably auditioned them and thought they sounded great.

Owning $12K speakers for only $5K does sound really good.:D

I wish my Salons were 58%off MSRP.

I think that my speakers are priceless, but I'll let you have them for the unprecedented price of $10k. I'll even throw in shipping - in the original boxes. You know you want to - what a bargain! :D

NHTs & Pioneers were my first real speakers. I thought they sounded great.

Since then I have listened to a lot more speakers ranging from $600/pr to $23,000/pr MSRP.

And the really funny thing is, I think most of these speakers sound kind of alike:eek:; most of them sound pretty good.:D

I think the OP did very very well getting the $12K Infinity Prelude Forty for $5K.

I suppose he could have gotten the Philharmonic speakers or so many other speaker for the similar price. But in the end, they all sound pretty darn good.:)

I should have had a listen before hand. But what a freaking deal! I feel so much more relaxed knowing these monsters sound as big as they stand. And BOY ARE THEY HUGE! Took three of us to get them both in the house
