A couple of weeks ago my close friend Dr Phil Marin, my wife and I cooked Paella, the national dish of Spain. We used the correct Spanish Bomba rice grown at altitude. We did the prep cooking in the main kitchen and did the actual cooking outside.

A meal enjoyed with friends. Dr Allan Miranda, a former resident and later colleague on our team. Now chief of cardiac anesthesia at Fairview University Medical Center Minneapolis. His wife Lori, a nurse anesthetist and two of his three children.
A time to relax and catch up on events.
It was a great weekend and a lot of fun. The next day our fifth grandchild and fourth grandson was born. The first child for my son Andrew and wife Jill. We all headed to the Twin Cities the next day to meet Isaac Carter.
