There is some decent discussion in that thread, but it is all coming from those with enough common sense to know what they are talking about.
I would suppose, as most of us know, that a good electrical connection is important, and without it, some products may not get the power they need. I can see how this may help with a poor outlet - just as bending the prongs would. But, it seems like the best recommendation for those who care, would be to start with a good outlet and a solid connection from the start.
Heck, companies like Middle Atlantic make surge strips designed to be hard wired into 20amp circuits. Seems like that makes sense for those who want to ensure solid power to all their gear.
Still, a lot of BS in that thread. Very frustrating to read that some people actually believe what they write, and have turned science into religion.
