I dunno....I didn't have any trouble finding him and I don't always buy into the marketing hype you often read or hear about either. :)
I've mentioned his name to a number of big Audiophiles who just starred blankley at me.

First words, "never heard of them".

You should buy one of the two subs(ie:velo or Digm) you've audtioned and call it a day or better yet get a referral from one of those Audiophiles you know first hand.;)

I demoed the DEQ-15R and the Paradigm SUB12 and the Velodyne sounded better IMO. The SUB12 just didn't produce enough punch for my taste.

I demoed the SUB12 at General Audio in Calgary, and the DEQ-15R at Radio Craft.
You do realize that demo shops have the sub levels set up randomly, right?

punch is basically a function of frequency response. You can tons of punch or no punch at all with the exact same sub based on how you configure it.

I invite you come to my house to see the difference between a proper setup and any other setup - all with the same sub.

lol

When I demo a setup, I make an appointment in advance. I tell them what receiver to use, what speakers, what sub, etc. I then bring in my own music, my own movies, etc.

We then spend a couple hours setting things up and go from there.

I don't just randomly walk in off the street and listen to some demo setup they have for random customers.

Would you order a car off a website based on stats alone, or would you want to test drive it, maybe even take it for a weekend before making a decision.
