Hello All,
I'm interested in purchasing a coulple sets of speaker binding post jumpers to replace the generic jumpers supplied with the speakers. I was looking at the anti cables from Paul Speltz, does anyone have any opinions on these jumpers and the solid core speaker cables. I would appreciate any suggestions for the jumpers other than the anti cables also, thanks for the time, I look forward to all replies.
Cheers, Jeff

Just use short runs of the speaker wire you are using currently. The runs are so small that it really won't make any difference at all. Of all the things in your system, speaker wire makes the least difference. The gear is more important that what connects them by far. I have actually tested solid wire that was $3/ft. in my system and I can say that the cost just isn't buying you anything of use.

Let me just save you some time on interconnects as well. Get your analog interconnects from Bluejeans :) I've used a lot of cables, some quite expensive, and I am currently using Bluejeans.

In both cases, the brunt of your funds are better spent elsewhere.

You can save yourself a bundle and grab a foot of romex from Home Depot.

Speaker wire:

Banana Plug:

I've made thousands of connections directly to speaker terminals/amp terminals directly, and with tons of different banana plugs, and all I've found is that you want a solid connection to the wire and a tight fit. I love the plastic plugs because it helps prevents shorts in the cabling, and the use of double set screws to hold the actual wire in place makes it nearly bulletproof for reliability and quality.

Of course, this will give you zero improvement over what you already own unless what you already own is completely inappropriate.

What's wrong with the one you have? I bet it works just fine and doesn't need replacing.
By the way, why did you buy th espeakers if you think those jumpers are inferior? How would they have designed the speakers if they cannot design a proper jumper?;)

You mean 'buy a proper jumper', don't you? I don't know of a single speaker manufacturer that designs their own plastic terminal cup.

How is a short piece of speaker wire going to make an audible difference when the pairs of binding posts are only a couple of inches apart?

"Anti cables"? WTF?

I don't think the speakers are inferior at all or the jumpers for that matter, I just got caught up in some snake oil jargon, I tend to that, forgive my ignorance. I am very much satisfied with my own home made stranded 10 gauge speaker wire and BJC two set screw locking banana plugs.

Thanks High for bringing me back down to earth, I don't know what I'm thinking about sometime and tend to get lost in my own head, a friend warned me awhile back "never go into your head by yourself". Thanks my friend.

Thanks John for the reply, every cable in my system is from BJC except my tonearm. I don't know why I even started this dumb thread, I know better than that, thanks again my friend for your always helpful input.

Sure sounded like he was looking for that jumper strap for a bi-wire capable speaker, no? The supplied strap should be just fine.
