I bought that Dayton for my son and I was surprised how good it sounds. I expected a little fart box, but I was wrong.
The Dayton imo is at the high end of my budget..
I plan on doing the same thing when I upgrade to a flat panel HDTV. My old sony RPTV has descent sound to it but I will be looking for a cheap small sub for TV watching. Does you TV have a "Sub Out" or will you be hooking it up a different way?
The mitsu has a sub out
I went to HH Greg tonight and picked up a Sony SAW2500 10" ported sub, It is 100W peak 50W normal. i got it for $93...
It sounds pretty good... I started looking around online, at Amazon they have Polk PSW10 for $99 and free shipping...
I am seriously considering returning the Sony and buying the Polk..
The Sony is nice, but it is more like a sub you would get with one of those monster shelf stereo systems... its cheaply made, the amp is also just as cheap looking; its this huge plastic block on the rear of the wood box with plastic knobs for "Freq Cut Off" and "Level"
the Polk looks more like a true home theater sub, with a flush mounted plate amp, it is even available in a cherry finish...
I have 14 days to return the Sony... Ill let it ride for a few days and make up my mind...
