Can you hear me NOW!?
I feel like you jinxed me here. I realized my volume+ button no longer worked on my phone but volume- works fine. I just went and got me my first non Nokia phone in like 15 years. It's a Samsung t259.

I thought it said something about stereo bluetooth. I just scored some work again and have to be up and at 'em at 5:00 AM but if one of you guys ain't doing nothing at work maybe you could track down those Motorola bluetooth stereo head phones and explain to me how the expandable memory works and how I could download some tunes to this and use it for music at work.

Basically I need somebody to do everything for me. I'm technotarded ... don't make fun. :p

I am a technotard too, and I honestly cannot remember the last time I chose to listen to music over headphones . . . and with that said . . . is there no worry about killing batteries quickly, both on the headphones and the phone itself?

I might consider just getting a dedicated mp3 player, I mean they're super cheap right? That way you won't kill the phone battery so quickly, and the lifespan of said battery. Again, I'm talking outta my butt, so I'm ready for the smackdown from somebody.

Then, according to BSA, these headphones right here are supposed to be a great value at $26. When your coworkers see you donning Sennheisers, they'll know who to ask for audio advice.

I saw a guy at work running a similar set up with a phone plugged into a charger close to his work station. The stereo bluetooth head phones I believe he said lasted quite a while on a charge. I can't carry an MP3 or have wires dangling. Pretty much everything on me gets filthy, sweaty and banged up. The head phones need to be like this:

... well shoot, since I'm not sleeping anyway I looked these up and they seem perfect even the part about them blocking out outside noise.

I'm pretty sure my phone said it was stereo bluetooth ... but that's it. I have absolutely got to get ready for a 3:00 AM wake up.

The expandable memory uses the MicroSD card option. Your phone supports up to a 32GB expansion. When you buy a new MicroSD card they typically come with a full size SD adaptor so you can connect it to your computer. You can upload music and pictures from your PC to the MicroSD card and then put it back into your phone.

People still buy "dumb"phones? :D
Some of us have no cell phone at all. :D Know what happens when you carry a phone? People call and text you, that's what. Who needs that? I freakin' well don't. As far as I'm concerned, it's just an electronic leash.

It isn't a leash, because I can ignore it :) It is a way to stay connected, but when I don't want to be, I can very easily put it in Airplane mode and still use all the other features.

My hats off to anyone under the age of 70 without a cell. I resisted until last fall. I finally broke down when I was trying to work out a consulting gig at a company that does a lot of defense work and had a secure entrance. I couldn't get in unless I called from the front. That's when I finally broke down.

I'm not helpless, I installed and hooked up my home theater with help from big brother Swerd but I hate tech merely for tech's sake. I've spent 25 years chained to a beeper that I can't ignore so I fought the phone. Most of my calls and texts are wrong numbers and spam. I mostly dislike the thing.

As it is the phone is smarter than me. What in the world would I be doing with an even smarter phone?

Oh ... I never knew what airplane mode was until now. What other features? :D

I found those SanDisk 32 GB cards but I think all of them had 'HC' in the nomenclature for 'High Capacity'. I'm guessing they are the same thing? 32 GB is a lot, right? I think my laptop has a 300 GB hard drive and my older desk top is only 160 GB. Are we still talking about apples and apples? I'm thinking that I could put a ton of music on there.

The S10 headphones look like they have a noise canceling feature which would be great for work.

This should work out perfect. I just scored some work with a known degenerate from the bad old days. The work might very well last awhile, long enough for me to get enough scratch together for Jeff's rec'r and these couple of toys. I could then take a ride to Jeff's with my laptop for the rec'r and a round of show and tell with the whole music/computer/phone thing. I need everybody to visualize this coming to fruition. Doug ... I don't want you visualizing anything. :D

Your phone specs:
http://www.letsgomobile.org/en/cellular/2638/samsungsgh-t259/

MicroSD or MicroSDHC are the type of cards is the one you need
The guested right - hc stands of high capacity. Device reading SDHC cards must be capable to do so, regular SD only goes upto 4Gb.

About size - you are right to compare size of SD and size of your hard drive. They are measured in capacity wise same units - apples :D
Fast 32Gb sdhc card still pricy - about $100. Why fast? - Filling up slow sdhc card will take hours.
How to tell is sdhc card is fast? They rated by it's class. 2 is slowest, 10 is the fastest.

You'd get much better deals for 16gb cards if you are looking best bang for a buck

Thanks for all the good info and especially this part.
I can make use of the savings while the prices come down as they always do.

Fixed for ya.;) It's no different up here; everybody is walking down sidewalks not looking where they're going - just like in the US. Except for me, of course.

A beeper!? If I don't want to be bothered with a cell phone, why would I want a beeper?:D

There has been the odd occassion when having a cell phone would've been handy. But that's heavily out-weighed by the PITA aspect of having one.

I'm not helpless either. I just refuse to cave into societal pressure to always "be on". I check my FB account perhaps once or twice a week. People have given up trying to communicate with me that way.:D

Sorry for the thread hijack Alex.

I don't have an FB account, and don't plan to. FB can FO.

If I am at home, I can attach to wifi and browse the web without TXT or calls coming in :) Games, read kindle books, etc... But I don't have to :)

My phone comes with 16GB and my previous one I upgraded to 4GB micro SD. I had plenty of music on the one with 4GB and I didn't even dent the amount of memory, so I doubt I will quickly fill 16GB. With all the music I have, I could more than fill that but I don't need to carry everything I own around like that.
