I read a couple of good reviews of this one, and knowing Christian Bale can play a good nut ala American Psycho, I thought I'd give this one a rent. The reviews weren't wrong, it's a pretty good flic. It wasn't too hard to pick up on what was going to happen towards the end, but it was still quite well done, and definitely worth a rent IMO.

Lol, I was looking for post to contribute my review on The Mechanic movie, but instead I find this incorrectly titled thread :D

j_garcia, I could bet my balls you are talking about The Machinist

Speaking of Machinist - Bale is amazing performance as usual, however for me movie was way too obscure and dark ...

Now back to The Mechanic - Pardon me since 2011 release is a remake of classic 1972 same titled - I'd revue both here:

2011 - This is typical Statham movie - Grim faced killer, A$$ kicking and not taking names :) Producers did change some original storyline and Imo for the worst. Ben foster as killer - ? I don't believe his character - mumbling and annoying.

1972 - Charles Bronson is DA MAN, now this is the Mechanic you should be watching. Minus few silly parts like 10 minutes dirt bike chase, I find it very well made, without the modern crap "effects" like shaky camera and fast editing.

ps: Yes, I know I dug out very old thread, but I find peculiar to do that, rather to open same title thread :D

That could be why nobody else ever responded to it :) Yes, I was referring to the Machinist. We have another thread discussing the Blu-ray release of it somewhere.
