15'x15' living room issues

Are 6.5 R L and Center with two 6.5 in ceilings with say an 8" woofer going to fill this space with good sound? I have the tv on the fireplace 13' from sitting place my end goal is to be able to damn near feel the rain when a rain scene of a movie is showing. Any help would be most appreciated.

In ceilings are a very last resort. I would probably just save my money and use the TV speakers. Also, a square room is the worst type of room, so this may be another consideration towards saving your money by not spending it on audio. My 2 cents. Sorry.

square room is going to suck but as long as you place the woofer in the right place you should be good....

thats the problem, there isn't a right place in a square room, literally everywhere is riddled with standing waves and resonances. the only solution is to dampen them with bass traps.
