But not that bad? For perhaps the biggest performance of an artist's life in terms of viewership, I'd hope they wouldn't tank as badly as they did.
The sad part, probably most people watching it didn't even realize how terrible it was.

But what ever, PACKERS WON! :D

I think people are overreacting. Stadium acoustics are terrible especially at Jerry World for concerts. It is designed for loud football games not concerts. It is the best place I've ever seen a football game too. The Super Bowl isn't about the Halftime show which was for teenage girls who at our Super Bowl party sang along and danced away drowning out the performers.

The game was amazing. I think they should have groups do the national anthem not solo acts. It really is a choral piece and should have a band playing along.

The outcome was good too. Rodgers is a stud and the Packers should have a good chance at repeating with next years schedule. Assuming there is a next year.

It wasn't snow it was ice. The worst ice/snow storm we've had in a long time. You try driving on ice with summer tires with idiots trying to run you off the road. Oh sorry forgot to mention there are a lot of idiot drivers down here and in ice they kill people.

Stadium sound may be terrible but the TV audience should have had their own mix. They do it that way for live concert recordings and I see no reason they couldn't have done it that way last night.

Was this storm worse than New Year's Eve 1999/2000? I was in Dallas for that and cars were parked all over the place. On sidewalks, up on curbs, on the grass, etc. Being from up here, we just drove around the cars and went on our way. That was when the inmates escaped from the prison and killed the security guards at Dunham's in the Irving (IIRC) mall.

i do think that America's and the Philippines' lyrics to their national anthems were made like they had a quota on how many unique dictionary words they should use. if we didn't sing the national anthem every single day in school, i would honestly not know the lyrics. i would say to sing in public would add to the chance of fumbling the words significantly, so it would be best to put yourselves in their shoes before judging.

Didn't live up here back then. Has there ever been a good halftime show? I've never seen one I really liked myself. Best national anthem was the one at the Philly game last year. The Guitar solo was nice.

I don't think I would want to plan a halftime show but if they look at who bought tickets, I seriously doubt it was 20-somethings whose favorite music is hip-hop, rap or anything close to it. However, when you factor in the 140 million TV viewers, not making everyone happy is just about guaranteed. I watched it at a bar/restaurant where I did A/V and security camera work and it sounded like crap. Some of us thought it was kind of funny but nobody seemed to care one way or another about it but her mistake was noticed immediately, by a lot of people. I saw it referred to as 'The Star Mangled Banner' on yahoo and in the local paper.

They could have just played Jimi's version- that way, no lyrics would be harmed in the performance.

Maybe, but if someone is going to go out there and sing, they should make sure to know the lyrics and even if she needed cue cards or a teleprompter, it would take some of the pressure off.

Trust me, nobody would want me to sing ANY song, so....

I'm probably the only guy on here who didn't watch the Superbowl. Who played, The NY Mets and the Ducks? I'm glad I didn't, I can't stand the black eyed peas...I hate that type of music.

LOL..........no you are not the only one my friend. I did not watch the game either. Missed the entire first half including the half-time show. Sounds like I did not miss much either. However, I did get to watch a little bit of the second half. Still a bit shocked that BIG BEN did not come through like he usually does. Congrats to the Packers!

Cheers,

Phil

I got up to the point (wincing the whole time) where slash started playing and heard "Awwwwoawww sweet child....." . Said aloud "STFU ***** your ruining a good song"......then went and played video games for the remainder of the half time show.

Oh and for the anthem...
Your a ******* professional performer.....even if your not patriotic enough to know your countries national anthem by heart at least rehearse the song so you know the ******* words
Just goes to show how little talent there is todays in pop music. It is worse now than it has ever been I think.

I like a variety of music and it includes everything from Blue grass to heavy metal. However, I also like talent and can appreciate talent no matter what the style is. This crap that passes for music today on top 40 makes me sick. What a joke and how stupid the masses are for thinking it is good. Top 40 pop has always been bad but it is worse now than ever. I mean when Nick Gilder starts to look like a genius you know it is bad.

Well sombody is buying this so called crap. Corporations are sponsoring this so called crap...my guess there is a huge market for this so called crap. I get it...we all hate it but somebody out there is buying it. I'm not a huge proponent of R&b, hip hop or the pop culture movement but my kids sure like it. Sure enough...I have a breaking point when listening to it, and I'm sure they feel likewise when I'm cranking out my Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or my classic rock collection ...:). In the end...different strokes for different folks...if you don't like it...you know what to do...;):).

Music in general seems to have taken a turn for the worse in almost every genre, some genres hit worse than others. When "artists" use auto-tune or lip sync at live events you know it's a bad day in music. Today's music is more focused on image and greed instead of great music, remember the days when you went to see your favorite artist and when someone asked you how was the concert? Your reply the music was great ask the same question now and you'll get the show was great.

Now that's not to say there aren't great artist out there it's just they don't fit with today's image of mainstream music. :(

There's some pop, hip-hop, rap and what not that I like, but the last few years worth of so called music that's played on the radio is absolutely terrible.

My GF and I worked at a concert gig this summer, and she complained that most of em were boring because they weren't dancing around with all the flashing lights. She really loved the backstreet boys concert she went to...
