Very good movie. Fundamentally, the story is a young British girl who falls for an older man. Pretty much every actor in every significant role did an excellent job. It is a well done character study of the two main characters, but all of them felt honest and believable. The story is pretty straightforward and a bit predicable ultimately, but it is presented in such a way that it maintains a high level of interest and it never devolves into something mushy, expected or blah. It did a good job of keeping focus on the characters and the story at hand. I would call this one borderline chick flick - the saving grace is that the story is done in such a way that it doesn't feel like it is directed at a particular audience and comes across as simply:real. In other words, it isn't emotional drivel.
PQ is quite good. AQ was also very good, though most of the film is dialog, there are a few scenes with live music and other background music that sounds excellent. It was directed by a female director I've never heard of, but I think if she can keep turning out films like this, she will quickly become a favorite of mine. Recommended.
