would this be the proper way to connect my components?

Hello. i am getting a Grant Fidelity p307 phono stage and preamp along with a Maverick Audio TubeMagic DAC. I was wondering the best way to connect them to my PC, DVD, TT and DVR.

Here is my idea.

There are so many knobs for volume/gain! I would like to use the DAC before the pre so i can use the p307 as a tube buffer stage for my digital sources. Would this work? Should i bypass the volume knob on the DAC??

The connections are correct, except that the amplifier connects to the DAC’s output. I doubt the phono pre amp has enough output signal to drive the amp.

Actually your P-307 is a line preamp, not just a phono pre. The way you are showing the hookup is correct.

Volume control should be done with the P-307.

EDIT: One more thing, try to keep everything plugged into the same eletrical circuit to help prevent any ground loop hum.

Yes, but did you notice that the P307’s pre amp outs are only .25 volts or .7 volts? Typically that’s a RMS figure. The Alesis amp has an input sensitivity of +4 dBu (1.23 Vrms).
